Tebow and Barkley are both good people regardless of football ability. There's nothing to criticize them for as far as being a good person and representative of their faith.

There was an episode of some high school football rivalries show that featured Mater Dei and Servite. The game they featured was from Matt Barkley's senior year at Mater Dei and he seems like a really good guy. He would lead the team in prayer meetings before the game and he just seemed like someone you could rally around as a leader.

Agreed. Whether or not you like the teams they play for or the way they play the game, it sure is nice to see a couple of high profile athletes that can serve as role models for young kids. Looks like J. Stokes might be that kind of person for UT. GBO!

yeah. i was in then same situation during cross country season. We would have a prayer before we ran and a few times we were made fun of (parents and opposing runners alike).

Hats off young man of God! I have a new person to pull for next year for the Heisman. Maybe he was placed into this situation by the One above to spread the Good news to his head coach.

Not that I knew anything about this kid to begin with, but watching this video game me huge respect for him. Too bad Lane Kiffin is benefiting from Matt's talent and faith, haha (joke!).

Apparently you are easily impressed.

When a 19 or 20 year old at a school (and state) that is mostly anti-Christian appears on a national website to make a statement like that about his personal convictions...I'm impressed. IMO that isn't an easy thing to do.

Barkley has a large lower-mouth area...not the hole thing, just the area between his bottom lip and chin.
