Wide receiver Andrey Baskin is one of the top players at his position in the country. Rivals.com rates him as a four-star prospect and the No. 25 receiver nationally. The 6-foot-3, 192-pounder caught eight touchdown passes in each of the last two seasons for Woodrow Wilson High in Camden, N.J. During the fall, Baskin announced a top three of Tennessee (leader), Syracuse and NC State. Find out if there has been any changes.

Here ya go Matt.......

Sorry - word is that Baskin is now leaning toward Syracuse...

Wasn't pleased when Sanders left supposedly...

Since Sanders got pushed out, Baskin scheduled a new visit to Cuse and will be there this weekend.

His HS coach was quoted a few days ago as follows:

"Wilson wide receiver Andrey Baskin, who had eight TD catches this year, is leaning toward Syracuse, McBride said."

Here's the link (bout 1/2 way down - paper mispelled his name beginning w/ a 'G'):

The kid must be a thug then. The only reason that anyone would be upset about RS leaving is if they were hoping to go somewhere that they would not have to train hard and behave off the field.

Well... sometimes it tough to keep a recruit when a new coach is brought in... You would think Cut could hold on to this guy tho...

Although maybe Baskin thinks he will play immediately at Cuse... which he probably will... their offense is horrendous... New coach trying to run the West Coast system with an option team... They need good receivers immediately. They're definitely in full rebuild mode...

with slick, meachum, swain, smith, rogers, woods, briscoe and grimes are we lacking at the position?

i figure DE, LB, QB and OL would be our main focus.

anyone know why larry slade was spared from the chopping block? anyone else think we need a new mind at the hlm for our DBs? speaking of, how deep are we at SS and FS?

I think Slade retired die to health problems - at least I think I read that somewhere

I take it you meant "due" and not "die" unless that was some kind of freudian slip :fool:

Anyway, I've heard the same rumors, that Slade will "retire."

actually, the reason baskin has cuse as his leader is because weve backed off of him for some odd reason. the second we give him a concrete offer, he will commit unless its too late. the same thing goes with anthony jones. i think the coaches are waiting on hawthorne, hazelton, vinson, and cooper before they offer jones and baskin.
