That’s a tough one. I guess at the end of the day, it’s a real estate deal. He’s done that here too. Built a big ballpark right down the street from where the old one (Bill Meyers) used to be. Promised development etc…not yet.
…But, the baseball guy in me asks, what would Effa Manly do?
What are you talking about? There’s been a ton of development. Are we just making up stuff to complain about now?

Just insane, they just don’t go back to Engle. The stadium when refurbished would sell tickets all by itself. It would be one of the oldest ballparks in America and people would come from miles to see it. You want tourists Chattanooga! You could as you always do and go with the next best thing or perhaps preserve a Baseball Classic. Think saving the Walking Bridge vs building a new CB Robinson Bridge. One is treasured work of art and the other is is a bridge.

And when it’s gone. It’s GONE!! With a plaque that says, “At this Marker…”
Back? Why? The condition of Engle was rubble. It wasn’t salvageable. If you think different, then get out your check book. The location was also problematic. The new stadium looks different than anything I’ve seen, but I’ll reserve judgement until. I attend in person.
