:eek:hmy:

Williams Fund members tour a new outdoor luxury seating section that will be installed behind the south end zone of Memorial Stadium. The 56-seat, 28-stool section will include 22 flat-screen televisions, an exclusive hospitality area with complimentary beverages and upscale buffets and luxury chair-back seating. Williams Fund members were given a sneak peak at the area Monday. Cost: $2,500 for a “club recliner” or $2,200 for a “club stool.”

Awesome addition to the stadium

Because the "luxury seats" behind the endzone are selling so well, Kansas has decided to add exclusive "VIP" seating along the sidelines.

by the time they built real boxes they might suck again.

i don't blame them for trying to cash while they can.

that said, if i was a Kansas fan with money to toss around, i sure as hell wouldn't be spending it on garbage like that.

Looks like they just got some scaffolding from a construction site, shined it up a little bit, and put vinyl covered recliners on it. How much do you think that set the school back... $1500?

That looks pitiful, but I'm sure the people paying for those seats and the concessions will enjoy them.

unless they're charging a bottle service to sit there in addition to the donation, the 50 or so folks sitting there probably won't do much concession wise, especially with their "buffet", which i'm sure is to die for, and complimentary drinks.

It's hot in Kansas in the early part of the season. The last thing I would want is to be sitting on scorching pleather for 4 quarters. But that's just me. Is that thing covered during inclement weather? Again, soaking wet pleather has to be problematic.

Are there any pictures of the "club stool"?

Probably something like this:

Hold up.

I wasn't aware that the club stool is made of 100% Indonesian Teak.

That takes it to a whole new level right there.

Well obviously KU is going for quality over anything else. Why else would they erect a scaffolding 3 months after one of their best seasons ever and charge 2+ grand to sit atop it?

UT could use something like that for all the old blue hairs that don't like to stand and who'll call the ushers if someone is yelling too loud for their comfort.

Interestingly, there are some pro teams who have banned standing for "prolonged periods." I know I saw a blurb on ESPN about at least one NFL team who has done this, but I cannot remember who.
