My brother told me the NFL is implementing new rules to prevent more tackling.

The NFL needs to stop bastardizing the game by trying to produce more offense.

I heard Jeff Fisher talking about it a few months ago on "The Wake Up Zone". They are banning the "horse collar" tackle that Roy Williams of Dallas uses quite a bit. It is where you run a guy down from behind and grab him under the shoulder pads and drag him down. Supposedly this is the kind of tackle which caused TO to miss several games at the end of the regular season.

i think they need to leave the game alone. they're taking all the fun out of football.

They're trying to increase offensive production in order to make it more viewer friendly.

sometimes its fun to watch a good ole defensive struggle. one of my favorite games for this was the 01' arkansas game. 6-3 late in the 4th until travis scores a td to make the final score 13-3 :rocks:

I know. All-out grinding defensive games are my favorite to watch as well. But the general public likes watching full power offense, 80 point total type games.

I like watching hard hitting defensive games.....At the same time though, I like watching hard hitting high scoring games.....but now you can't hit them clean without them making a BS call....they've taken all the fun out of football....Hard hitting, but clean is football...That's what the pads are there for, to hit hard....The pads are there for a reason, use them!
