I've been using Firefox for approx. 8 months or so. I have had absolutely no problems. Love the speed especially. Recently, a few days ago, Firefox would just quit working sometime while I'm surfing the net. It works for an hour or so and then stops working. It isn't freezing up. You can click on buttons, but the browser doesn't do anything. To close it out completely, I have to pull up Windows Task Manager and shut it down from there. When I restart it, it works fine until the next time. I've completely removed it and downloaded and reinstalled it twice. Same problem exists. I've run sweeps with Zone Alarm, Malewarebytes, Super Anti-Spyware, etc. and found nothing. I'm running XP. Any ideas? Thanks.

since you've reinstalled, i'm guessing that you're using the most up-to-date version... when my version gets old, I experience similar problems ...

I have also experienced problems w/ the ZoneAlarm toolbar when used w/ firefox (freezes my firefox) .. I just had to disable the add-on .. I think that's a known problem that ZoneAlarm is working on ...

I have it disabled. I'll go over to their site to see if they anything I need to be aware of. Couldn't really find anything on Mozilla's site. Thanks.

I recently upgraded zonealarm .. when I did that, I saw that there are now 2 different add-ons ... one the toolbar and the other the 'security engine' ...

my firefox (3.6.6) won't run if I have the toolbar enabled ... I do have the 'security engine' enabled .. for whatever that's worth ..

I read something about too many bookmarks hanging up Firefox. I deleted all my bookmarks, completely uninstalled Firefox, including all my preferences, etc. Fresh download again from Mozilla site and new install. So far, so good.

When you uninstall/reinstall, did you run a cleanup program before the reinstall to get rid of leftover crap? There may have been some jacked up registry keys also that were left hanging around that would gum up the works. Download Absolute Uninstaller and use it to remove the program. Download Cleanup452 and ccleaner. Run them both in order after you uninstall. Run the registry cleaner in ccleaner too. Then reboot and reinstall.

Thanks. I have the CC, but didn't think to use it. I'll take a look at the other and download it, too.
