This freshman from Covington, TN has joined the team as a pinch runner after going through tryouts. I haven't found her senior stats but she batted .550 as a junior and stole 48 bases on 49 attempts. Also a standout in volleyball (led her team in kills & aces) and basketball (scored 36 points in a game last season).

FWIW, her name is misspelled in many places as "Treasury" but "Treasuary" is correct.

Write-up in the Covington paper 2 weeks ago:

Treasury Poindexter, daughter of Katasha and Steven Poindexter of Covington, graduated from Covington High School last May #11 in her class with a 3.89 GPA. Treasury has long been known for her athleticism and had offers from local colleges to play volleyball, basketball, and softball. But, she wanted to play for a Division I school. Did she just give up? WHY NO! She contacted the softball staff at the University of Tennessee and made an appointment to “try out” for The Lady Vols. She has been accepted on the team and has taken the role as pinch runner for the catcher. Pictured ready to catch the ball (R), she proudly wears number 33 – the number her mother and her aunt (Katrisha) wore for CHS basketball.

Treasury is representing our community well not only on the softball field, but she is majoring in kinesthesiology and aspires to become a physical therapist.

She is a talented kid on the basketball court as well. She's most definitely a shooter. I was born and raised in that area and I am so proud of her!

She needs to be going to ask coach Holly if she can practice with the team if this is in fact true. She is already at the school and we are down to 9 players this year. She could be some insurance in case we have a guard injury.

I promise you she can shoot and a very smart player. Probably a lil on the thin side but tough as nails. Nothing weight training can't fix though. Her grandfather taught them all the game of basketball around the age of 3 or so.

I'm with you, mlindsay, that's ,I think,an idea worth considering. Maybe even Holly might approach her. What say you,Coach Jumper?

Probably the only footage on her would be game tapes that her mom probably kept. Its a very small town that's about 15-20 minutes from one end to the other. The young lady I mentioned before, jamirah shutes from Haywood County is the one they should look at. Talent wise she can come out of High School this year and play college ball. Only a Junior now though. And like Treasuary she's in a small town.

They both should be reaching out to Holly right now! That's what Kamera Harris brother did and it lead to her being a Lady Vol! If they want it enough they get in touch with Holly & if they are afraid to approach her, then contact one of the assistants!
