Did I see where UT upgraded the sound system in the stadium? I hope they did.

I've never really noticed it in the past because the music was played by the band. But I went to the S. Carolina game last season and it sounded like a $19 pair of Kraco's laying loosely in the back of a Chevy Vega.

I like the idea of playing more modern music, but it needs to sound good. I'll see on Sat.

The new sound system is GREAT! The mains are clear and the subs are rocking. For a stadium as big as Neyland with the possibility of so much acoustical challenges of the bouncing echos around the bowl of the stadium, it's really good.

Thanks for the info. With no big separation between the lower and upper decks it does present a challenge. Can't wait to hear it.

It also sounds much better when the stadium is fuller--more bodies for the sound to be absorbed by, less echo.

SO FILL THE DANG STADIUM, PEOPLE!! :)

I don't think they have. I sit in section S, and the speakers on the overhang were not working at all for the Arkansas St. game.

They definitely have. I was at the SC last year and the hip hop they were piping in sounded awful. I went to the USU game and its a huge difference. Theres actually bass and treble instead of just flatness.

Does the band still echo in the speakers and sound like ****?

Not at all. My seats are in XX3 and they have put a delay in the sound system so the "live" band sound and the "speaker" band sound get to me at exactly the same time. It sounds incredible!
