If both james and phillips are out for wednesday what could the starting lineup look like? the 1 2 3 is likely ziegler vescovi key. but the 4 and 5 get a lot more tricky. the assumption would be that ON would start at the 5, though then you're missing a 4. I doubt Aidoo gets the start, they could go back to uros at the 5 and ON at the 4, or maybe throw a curveball with mashack at the 4 and awaka at the 5 to start, and then have the big guys all coming off the bench. im curious as to what yall think about this situation and what is most likely

I go with Aidoo, O, Awaka backline then ZZ, Vesco, Key, Mashack. Uros only to rest Josh or if he gets into foul trouble, feet on floor no shooting. If O is not hitting his jumper delegate him to rebound only as he is either on or off, no in between. Let Awaka get it back to the basket inside and force something. Guards gotta hit 3's all night to win this one. Defensively that feels weak so it may be a high scoring game, take the over.

Hearing that Uros and Brandon Miller plan to throw down two minutes prior to tip.

The big Serbian versus L.A. (Lower Antioch).

Go Uros!!

I forgot about ON. I think he’ll start. And Aidoo or Mashack. It would be wild if Barnes were to trot out BJE to start.

ORN
Aidoo

Feels like Rick is done with Uros in the starting lineup. Don’t think he’ll put Maschack into start. I do think we’ll run two bigs in this game for a bit with how long Alabama is but that clearly didn’t work against Mizzou so if I’m Rick I have the “big” lineup on a short leash and if it ain’t working I pull the plug quickly.

If Rick is done with Uros in lineup , that’s the smartest thing he has truly done lately . I don’t mean this to be rude , but Uros is a better cheerleader than a player .

If O isn't hitting his shots, he may as well sit the bench. He isn't going to be a primary rebounder. Never has been.

The issue of both Phillips and JJJ are out is you have nothing at guard/wing behind Zeigler/Vescovi/Key/Mashack so if you start those 4 and any pick up a quick foul you’re sweating.

You are correct but I think that has a lot to do with him trying to set the post. He works too hard to get the ball then he takes an off-balance shot. If he is getting good shots and hitting them continue if not turn his focus to rebound only. He can bang them around and block out.

The one reason I might start Uros to get his allotted minutes. We won’t be in the 1+1 that early and he & Awaka are not good at the line. I mean he’s gonna get some minutes anyway that would be the safest time.

Mashack first guard in, Awaka in at under 16 min. mark.

Yes, he CAN bang around and block out...but he won't. My point is that he doesn't have the mentality to go do the dirty work. When his shot isn't falling, he generally just checks out across the board. A big reason why he only played 21 minutes in our last game when we were down 2 players.

I don’t care who they start as long as Key, Awaka, Aidoo, and Mashack get at least 30 minutes each. Obviously, it’s time to try something different and these guys have earned their minutes…especially against MO. Don’t put the weight of the earth on Z and Santi every game.
