I came away from the final group of recruits with a reasonable level of satisfaction considering the last four years of chaos. That is not to say that our recruiting as not in the twenties some better and some worse. The big problem is that the teams we have to play year in and year out are in the top ten, BCS and have the top recruiters in the conference. This year will tell the story for Butch and his staff. We better have a couple of surprise wins and a top ten class 2014 other wise were going to struggle with Butch until we get a coach that can get the most out of his players and can go head to head and win with the recruiter’s we are going to continue to swim in this pool of mediocrity. Just my opinion hammer away.

I agree completely. I'm tired of losing, we need some wins. And it aint going to be easy this year.

Dang,at least let him him get thru the spring game before you throw up the :mf_surrender:

There was a really good analysis on CBJ's coaching history of out- winning what would be his predicted record given his recruiting classes on a thread posted yesterday, don't recall which one. He was +2 one year, +3 another for sure. He's got a history of winning league championships and I love how the guy goes about his business. Of course I want results ASAP, but for crying out loud relax and let him work. Lets at least get through the orange and white game before you start writing his obituary.

With all things being equal in terms of talent in the MAC and Big East...Butch is a winner. Saban and Miles are also Michigan men and didn't exactly light it up at Michigan State.

I'm not going to flame you over this. But it does seem to be the same tiresome thing i'm hearing from a lot of others.

I'll ask a question instead. Just because i really want to know and maybe you will be the one to give a civil answer and shed some light on things. What were you really expecting from CBJ so far?

I'll give my side... He had 31 days to recruit. That is 31 days following coaches that, from what has been said, for the most part (I think CJG and a couple of thers continued to recruit) stopped recruiting after the Miss St game. A head coach who turned his back on and even spurned former players. Had virtually wiped out in state recruiting. A coaching staff that was not even returning recruits calls.

So 31 recruiting days and he has not even coached a practice here yet.

I want 14-0 NC's

What I reasonably expect (If he can coach the way he says he can). One of two scenarios.

1) 7-5 with a bowl win. Reason for saying Bowl Win is if you go 7-5 during the season you haven't done anything too special. There are 7 teams we could/should win, so Bowl win is a must.

2) 8-4 with a good showing in a bowl game w or L. Reason... If we win 8 during the regular season. We beat one of Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, or South Carolina.


What do people reasonably expect?

Gotta love these threads. He hasnt coached a game at UT and some are ready to run him off already.

I get so sick of hearing this she-it - everybody expects 14-0.14-0.14-0. Blah, blah, blah. The usual sunshine pumper mantra. Funny thing is, NOBODY has said anything about NTs or 14-0 seasons. NOTHING!!
i expect 8-5. You telling me that's too much? If it is, turn in your orange card and go pull for Minne-f**kin-sota.

Huh? Did you actually read my post? I know it was long, but did you read it?

I said I want 14-0 just like i think everybody wants.

I followed that up with pretty much the same exact thing you said about what I EXPECT.

Edit: Yeah...I reread it myself. Both examples given were pretty much an 8-5 record.
