Half the people on these forums are delusional. What do fairweather fans do to a program? Ask Michigan and Nebraska. lol

Preach bro! Glad somebody gets it.I kinda set myself up for major disappointment after the SC game.Kinda thought we turned the corner and thought we had a chance against MO, Aub&Vandy. Now not very much. We'll get beat by Aub.Vandy's a toss up.Ky should be a definate win.Just being realistic.

What is unrealistic about your comment is you forget that Missouri's players have had the same coaching staff for their entire careers and have learned "the system." Allowing a receiver to be open by 20 yards is a mental breakdown indicative of a lack of familiarity with the defensive scheme. These things take years to ingrain into a team. This is why Missouri is so much better than we are right now.

So how do you account for underclassmen making a contributions?

These guys are college football players. They didn't pick the game up this year.

Because they can learn from upperclassmen who already know the system. That's how you learn the most effectively--by watching someone who already knows the system. By the time they are sophomores and begin playing, they have it down pat. Our team has ZERO continuity. Every game is a learning experience. I'm not making excuses. This is the reality of college football. Three coaches in 5 years. What can you honestly expect?

Delusional. That's what you are. Lack of talent, depth, and speed are not excuses. They are facts. Until Coach Jones gets comparable talent to Knoxville, he cannot be judged adequately from a coaching standpoint. No coach, I don't care how good they are, would be able to be successful with our schedule and our roster. See Nick Saban's first year at Alabama as an example. He lost to UL Monroe in his rebuilding efforts.
I swear, if I hear the Saban/UL Monroe defense again, I am going to scream.

How about ONE touchdown in an entire game?

That's not realistic. It's on the road, so who knows.

Well he's right. So scream Doyle, scream.

No. Plucking the exception out of a universe of "rules" is not "right". MOST GOOD coaches make an immediate improvement in the play and win total of their teams.

I'm not anti Butch. I actually am impressed with some of the things he and this staff has accomplished. I just don't get why no one is allowed to question or criticize any move they make. That attitude is exactly what fueled the train that ran this program off of the tracks.

The only thing the last three games will prove is how vastly inexperienced and under talented this Tennessee squad actually is. Jones and Co. Have very little to work with. Give them time and talent and we'll all be pleased with the product.

No. If he coaches this team to ITS potential then it will indicate he can coach a talented team to championships. If he fails to do so then he leaves ALOT of legitimate questions unanswered.

You and others make the mistake of assuming your conclusion. You assume that the coaching is good therefore better players solves all problems.

I have avoided bringing this up but Jones didn't beat very many if any great teams while at Cincy. He was 0-3 vs ranked teams. His best win was probably over an 8-5 VT team last year. The combined record of the teams he beat at Cincy was 132-164.

I like him. I want him to be successful. I want to believe that he will bring championships to K'ville.... but I want to see PROOF of quality coaching- not words... not promises of better coaching when better players are on the roster.

There is WAY more than enough reason to not assume that coaching is not a major factor in this team's problems.

Ok, now tell me why the Auburn coaching staff is doing so much better than ours this year.

I have to respond twice to this guy. It is not nuclear science. Ok. It is football and a "greatly simplified defense" as well. It does not take "years" ok. Any of those guys who don't comprehend it now are not going to comprehend it next year or the year after that either.
