I've fallen behind this year on recruiting so just trying to play a little catch up. So please, don't yell at me for being an idiot till AFTER you answer. I have 3 questions for you recruiting gurus in here:

1) Who does everybody think will be the next commit to UT and who are the next top 3 after him that will most likely end up Vols.

2) What will our final recruiting ranking average out to between ESPN, Rivals, and Scout?

3) Are we still looking at Eddrick Loften or the Dixon kid from GA? I'm just hoping that there is not another fiasco like last year with so many kids we were counting on not qualifying.

All input is extremely appreciated!!!! V,B.

1) No idea

2) Top 15

3) Yes on both. Both are trying to get their business in order so they can enroll in Jan. I believe Dixon is taking the ACT test in early Oct. UT can back-count 2 EEs. They would apply if they make it in.

To clarify, no matter how many we can back count, any EE can fill those spot(s), it does not have to be Loften and/or Dixon.

All of sudden it seems like everyone thinks we can backcount 2. During August, when John Brown, Loften, Dixon, and Martaze Jackson were trying to get in. Hubbs said we had 2 remaining spots for the 4. So then Martaze gets in late, I would think we have only one spot left????

How many we can sign is somewhat irrelevant.

We can ENROLL between January and next August, 25 + 1 or 2 backcounts to 2010 class, so 26 or 27.

You can obviously oversign, but at the end of the day it does not matter how many we sign it is important to get them into school.

1) Vincent Dallas

2) Top 20

3) Yes...looks like we are recruiting both and both could be here in January, and thus would be backcounted

1) Next commitment could be Vincent Dallas or Tino Thomas, Dallas is suppose to announce sometime in mid October & Thomas should commit next time on campus

2) Top 20

3) We are still wanting Loften & Dixon, Loften is at home in Texas taking a online course hoping to get qualified to enroll in Jan. Dixon is taking the ACT early October & is hoping to enroll in Jan.

We can sign 27 with this class backcouting 2 of those.

This. I keep thinking Dallas everytime this comes up about who is next. A couple more 300 lb dts and this guy and I'll be thrilled with this recruiting class as long as clear and king commit as well.

Technically, #1 was split into two questions, making your total 4. False advertising!

Haha. Jk dude.

No way of knowing what order we will get our recruits this year -- or any year for that matter. I look for Dallas to hook up by the weekend of the LSU game, and I think Chris Jones and Arnett may not be far behind him. The smart money says that Tino will be soon also, but I still think we are slow-playing Tino.

I think we will easily be in the top 20, and probably in the top 15. If I had to pick a number it would be between 12 and 14, so I will go with #13. For UT's program, it will be a better class that the ranking indicates, because we will be meeting so many of our desperate needs on the field -- we are well on our way to that goal.

The staff still thinks both Loften and Dixon are takes, as long as each does what is necessary to be in the EE class. I think you can rest easy about repeating last year's fiasco. Dooley has made it clear that he is recruiting for great athletes possessing the ability to help our team, but filtering those who meet that criteria to ensure that the kids we recruit are kids both of good character and who can get decent grades in the classroom.

We can sign 25 + 2 back counts, and it is a sure bet that we will use all we can, so we will sign 27 total with or without Loften and Dixon. We are already getting tight with only 10 scholarships left, so Dooley will be even more selective about who he is willing to sign. Some that we have previously offered will be left behind, especially since there is always the chance that we will issue new offers for kids that show out in a big way during the high school season.
