just curious if we were asked to participate in any early season tournaments yet? Don't they usually ask teams pretty early? Ive seen some for puerto rico and the maui and i think syracuse is going to be in the carrier game.

Sorry if to early, just wondering

I thought, to my understanding you can only compete in the pre-season tournaments 3 out of every 4 years so we will have to sit them out next season. I could be wrong, but that is how I remember IIRC.

I think you're thinking about the Summer trips to Europe. We are actually eligible for on this coming summer if Cuonzo elects to take it. BTW, KY only up by 2 pts. over Auburn with 7 minutes to go....

AU is a completely different animal than what they have been. I thought for the foreign trips it was only permittable every other off season? I could be wrong. It's been a while since this came up. lol

I thought the foreign offseason trips were once every for years.

The early-season tournaments have no limit. We have been in one for the past six seasons.

we were in the preseason nit twice (beat by butler and unc first time...winning it last year) the legends classic (killed by texas in n.j) that tourney in orlando (forgot who beat us) the paradise jam (losing to purdue) and the maui this year

might be it or im forgetting one. Pretty awesome when you look at the level of tournaments we've been part off. P.R sounds right.

I think it would be awesome to have a tennesse tournament where all the teams in tn play. Talk about a tough one,

Like the others have stated, you can play in a tournament every year but a lot of tournaments have rules for the number of years before they'll invite you (ex: Maui is 4 years)

Only tournaments I can find confirmed are

Maui Invitational
Butler, Illinois, Marquette, Mississippi St, UNC, Texas, Southern Cal, and Chaminade

all the other tournaments I've seen said they would announce in the spring.

Another tournament I could see us in is the Coaches -vs- Cancers. Would be a nice gig but sucky TV coverage. It's going to be held by TruTV from now on and moved from NYC to the Barclays in Brooklyn.

Other tournament gigs that usually take SEC teams is Hall of Fame classic, Diamond Head Classic and Charleston Classic. All have been pretty weak but the Charleston Classic has gotten nice.

i could definitely see the coaches vs. cancer pushing for us, and cooach martin would also probably really like to be involved in this. with what he went through im sure he would really love the opportunity to help support the battle against cancer.

Would be a nice tournament. Plus, playing in a brand new NBA arena is always a plus.

do they have any of the field set yet? itd be nice to not have to play in an early season tourney with the field like maui had. it is a good schedule strength boost but at the same time its nice to get out to that good start.

The new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. 1 Billion $ construction, set to open in September. Looks really nice.

So would the C vs C tourney be the first competitive basketball to be played in the Barclay's Center? That would be cool too!

I would like to see Tennessee in the Charleston Classic. It's not that far of a drive from Knoxville.

it would be pretty cool to play there kind of like the way they opened up the billion dollar cowboy stadium. sounds like it would be a great tourney to be involved in next year.
