First of all they deserve props for winning it all . . . But suddenly they are being talked about as this unstoppable force that will never be able to be stopped if everybody comes back.

My questions is, are they really that good or are these the same guys that got swept by us and SC and everything just fell into place for them?

They're very good. Not great like the '92 Duke team or UK in '96, but very good.

The problem is, Coach Eddie Munster will be able to point to the early departures of Matt Walsh and Anthony Roberson to the NBA as busts and keep some of these underclassmen around. They are a solid bunch, but I agree, I think things fell there way to a certain extent setting up a nice tournament run.

if everybody stays, they should be the #1 in the preseason poll. But I think Noah will leave.

Agreed that they will be pre-season #1 and they deserve to be. Were they the best team in the country this year? Yes, for the last three weeks they were. But next year they will have great big targets on their backs and life's gonna get very tough in the SEC. I equate their success this year to the improbable NC State run for the championship in ------Oh, I forget the year but it was the one where they beat Houston in the final.

1983. This Florida team is much better than that NC State group.

Very tough to say how good they would be. And it is really academic because its not like everyone else is standing still. Even if Florida came back and was exactly as good as they were the last few weeks, that does not guarantee them anything. Sure, it would give them quite an edge and you could say that you would expect them to do well, but so much has to fall into place and so much is dependent on things you can't control.

I think Donnovan said it best regarding this run....he said if you started the tournament over tomorrow, you'd probably have 4 different teams in the final four....at least he's realistic, and understands what this team did...and took advantage of.

Plus, and as much as it pains me to say this, it's not like they tip toed in, i mean they were throttling teams on the way to getting this ring.

I agree with the comment about Donovan having some perspective. He is probably headed for the Hall of Fame. He is only 40 and has a national championship as a coach, got to Final Four as a player, and has taken the Gators to the tournament 8 times. Probably coach another 20 years, easy, and should see the Final Four again. His attitude really does impress me.

LG, I'm eating a big plate of crow today. Way back in the preseason, I didn't think that UF could do what they did. I'm really proud for the SEC, for Billy D, and what those kids accomplished.

Congrats, Gators!

Who cares about the Gators and next year. First off I don't care about the Gators at all, but its football time now.

No need to eat crow. At the beginning of the year even the Gator faithful were hoping to somehow just eek out an NCAA spot and even that seemed unlikely. No one expected this result. Put the crow away. Join the celebration and snack on some filet mignon and champagne!!

That's for sure, Hat. The comparison I make is that both teams ran through a minefield.
