I was listening to Colin Cowherd this morning and he talked about Nick Saban and Chip Kelly for almost and hour. Colin thinks Nick Saban is definately gone to the NFL, he thinks he could be the best coach ever if he also won a Super Bowl along with 3-4 NC's. He also thinks there is a good chance Kelly could be gone as well...

How do you all think this will effect the landscape of our schedule next year, since we play both on the road?

I am specualting that Oregon's OC will be in line to take over for Kelly and maybe Justin Wilcox. And Kirby Smart may very well carry the torch for Saban. Even though these guys are on the staff currently, they still are not Saban and Kelly. Most likely, if they do go to the NFL, they will leave their teams in the middle of January and could almost certainly change some of the recruits' mindsets...

Just some food for thought...

I don't see Saban or Kelly going to the NFL. Saban has already tried it once and he is king at Bama. Kelly's up tempo spread O won't cut it in the NFL imo.

I don't think either will go, they both have huge egos and like winning too much, which is a lot tougher to do in the NFL. Saban already proved he couldn't handle it.

One can but dream. If only to revel in the Alabama fanbase meltdown that would be sure to happen.

Yes sir, one can but dream...this would be awesome. :)

FWIW - I don't think either Kelly or Saban leave, so our schedule will have on it 4 of the Pre-Season Top 5 teams in the country on it...possibly 5 of the top 6...best of luck Coach Jones and Company, we are behind you 100%.

I want to be realistic here. We may lose 5 or 6 next year. But im interested in how we compete at Oregon and Florida and Alabama each with a coach who doesnt wear adult diapers so when he gets scared he doesnt wet himself. Go Vols.

I think we'll be lucky to go 6-6 next year. That's not a discredit to BJ, rather an indictment on our roster if (and probably) Bray, CP and Hunter leave early.

Defense *should* be better, at least a little, but offense will likely take a step back.

Saban is slowly turning into the Bear Bryant... Why.. would you want to leave that for money? Who has that kind of money we are talking about buying him out and then paying him nearly 8-10 mil/yearly for him to even consider leaving. The Cowboys?

Hell Jerry Jones would probably throw a 5 year 52 million contract at him if he could win a superbowl but he cant he's not cut-out for the NFL.

Nick Saban's wife was on ESPN radio saying with all the college restrictions he was enjoying the game less and less...And he didn't fail at the NFL, the Miami Dolphins were a flawed franchise. They spent money in all the wrong places and they were terrible at QB and WR...He left to come back to college because he found out the Dolphins were the wrong choice not the NFL...

There is more pressure to win at 'Bama than in the NFL. You can lose 6 (or even 7) games a year and still win the Super Bowl. He won about half his NFL games with a terrible team and still has something to prove. He will be in the NFL sooner or later and sooner suits me fine.

She must love to talk to the press... I've heard like 3-4 quotes that she supposedly has voiced about Saban and crew in the last few days.

saban didn`t do so well in the nfl before, i think he`ll be around for awhile. his style of football is still strong but it is a dieing style. as long as he can keep fresh people and keep those deep lineups he will win. i may catch flack on this, but the game is getting faster and everybody that has played bama that kept him from move players in and out gave him trouble. thats just my 2 bits.

Exactly this. Imagine being Nick Saban living in Tuscaloosa. It would have to be a suffocating, miserable experience with all of those mouth breathers pestering you at every waking moment

"Roll tide!", and "I can't believe you lost one game! I'm going to poison a National Forest's worth of trees!" or, "Nick we love you but if you don't win a NC every single year, we're going to teabag your're daughter! I'm friending her on facebook!" ::shudders::

At some point the guy has to tell Finebaum and co. f*** off and go strive to be the next Belichek in the NFL.

Very much doubt their leaving - plenty of money and such an ego boost to be the biggest fish in the smaller pond. Besides, Saban tried that already at Miami. Muuuuuch better where he is now.

While you may be right about Kelly's offense not working in the NFL, he would have already been gone if not for Phil Knight stepping in. Philly and Carolina are already in the mix for next year. Carolina makes sense with Cam at QB. Belichick has talked with him on several occasions, implementing some of his schemes into their offense.
Saban, I have no idea about, he just seems to wear out people. How long can that last at one place?

Colin Cowherd was talking about it on his show and played a clip...she was on ESPN 97.3 The Zone...I do not know where that is located...I am sure if you searched you could find it...

97.3 is another Birmingham station.. like there wasn't enough bama on the radio around here

Do you actually think that Nick Saban ever speaks to anyone in the city of Tuscaloosa other than his team and staff? He maybe talks to outsiders for all of an hour or two at University mandated special events.

That was the interview where she said that she and Nick were happy where they were at and were looking to wrap up his career in Tuscaloosa. Either I can't find a clip that doesn't edit out what you claim Cowherd played, or you never heard what you claimed you heard.
