It seems as I read the comments from kids after their visits that they always comment on the facilities. At one time we were the class of the nation in that department, but we've fallen way off. Is this new upgrade going to resolve that issue? And how did we let ourselves fall to the point we start comparing ourselved to sc and arkansas?

Nicer facilities are not going to prevent 5-6 seasons.

i think our facilities as it relates to athletic centers, and practice facilities are still top notch...and Neyland, while it still had a charm to it, needed an upgrade to modern times.

imo, the upgrades at Neyland are as much a long term financial need, and creating a more fan friendly environment, as it is to keep up with the Jones's so to speak.

where we were really lacking in was in bball facilities, but they are remedying that now as well...our football facilities are still top notch....i see this more as a proactive thing, more than a reactive thing to what some one else is doing.

i wish that they were adding seats instead of taking them away, IMO
to be honets, once you're over 100k, does it really matter? it's freakin big....and you got admit, those 6" wide places on the benches they call seats, are not exactly what i'd call a true reflection of the human posterior...the capacity in Nelyand has been inflated for a long time....dont' get me wrong, i still love it and all...but the way they have that seating numbered, and set up, it can be an uncomfortable arrangement, especially if you're a big fella like me, or sitting next to a big fella like me...i need my elbow room!!!!

Of course the answer is for everyone to stand and cheer for 3 hours, but you always get the inevitible shshing and demands that you sit down so the the people behind you can see and hear....so that goes out the window.

Here's an idea...take the benches out. Everyone stands, all the time. Ushers are not looking for people being to boisterous, but the opposite. anyone not clapping, yelling, whistling etc....you're out of here!!!!

The answer is... Neyland has jack crap to do with the "Facilities" that student atheletes look at. They look at living arrangements and practice facilities, including weight rooms... they spend 3 hours every other Saturday in the fall at Neyland... they spend hours every day for 4 years in the weight rooms and practice facilities... which are still as good as any other's.
