I'm seeing this clip all over the place today, so I thought I'd share here.

I moved to Knoxville in 2006 and graduated from UTK in 2011. I didn't follow the Vols closely before I moved, so my time as a fan has unfortunately coincided with one of the worst stretches in program history.

Seeing videos like this, and experiencing the tidal wave of sustained excitement following the win over Alabama, I feel like I'm walking around with goosebumps 24/7 these days. For many of you, it probably feels like order has been restored to see the Vols at the top of the college football landscape, but for folks like me, this season has been my first chance to experience Tennessee football in all of its proper glory in real time.

As I watched them running through T last night, a flood of emotions washed over me. In one shot, we see a packed house for a night game, the Pride of the Southland opening the (now LED-lit) T, the drum major conducting the chaos, Smokey leading the charge, our team running out in some truly badass uniforms, and then an overhead shot of our beautiful stadium erupting with a cascade of orange and white fireworks.

Maybe I'm being dramatic here, but it all seems so much crazier that we've been lost in the woods for the better part of 15 years. The tradition, passion, and pageantry here are unmatched, and now the whole world—including fans like me who had never tasted football greatness before—gets to see Tennessee at its best.

What a treat. We're all lucky to be a small part of something so special.
