I posted back at the beginning of May asking for prayers for my son. He was born at 33 weeks and was born with an omphalocele (stomach, intestines, and liver were in a sack outside his abdomen). Well he is doing wonderful and way ahead of the curve of what the doctors even expected. He's a very healthy happy baby boy! He's watched every game with me so far and the Vols of course have been undefeated for the entirety of his little life! Oh, and for anyone that missed it the first time, his name is Neyland! My wife and I along with family and friends have declared him Tennessees good luck charm (even though the team doesn't know haha). But thanks Vols family for everyone who saw my original post and send your thoughts and prayers our way....it was much appreciated.....GO VOLS, beat BAMA!161741.jpeg

This is the best thing I’ve seen on VN this week. So, so happy and grateful this little man is doing well. That’s a handsome guy. You must be proud of him.

This is awesome. So glad to hear that he is doing great! What a cool name!

Our son was born at 27 weeks. He's 21 years old now and got to witness that beat down on LSU in person last weekend.

Prayers for Neyland's continued progress. 🙏

I had a daughter who is 12 now that was born between 26 and 27 weeks as well. Shes also a healthy young girl now. Having children has been the scariest times in my life but also the most miraculous times that have changed my life forever in very positive ways. I'm glad your son got to experience that thrashing in person in sure he had a blast! Thanks!

Thank you so much....my wife and I are super proud of him. We tried for 7 years to get pregnant, we did IVF and it failed....then a few months later we got pregnant naturally....so needless to say he is our pride and joy.

Not as heart warming but I got a new dog and cat which have been in the room during the games this year so they are my good luck charm.

I am adopting a daughter from over seas soon. Man it is difficult waiting...

Good for you. There are lots of kids that need love and can't seem to find someone to give it to them. That's a big deal. Congrats and thank you for having a big heart.

Takes a great person to adopt. My dad adopted me when I was 2, I had 3 brothers that were his blood, and I never felt any less of his than they are. Kudos to you and good luck!

Man… this is a Gameday feature story in the making.

Glad the little guy is doing well!
How does one even go about submitting the heartwarming stories to gameday? My wife asked me about that and I'd never even thought about it. Would be awesome to have him be able to see himself on TV as a baby when he's older.

I have three adult children who have no recollection of the University of Tennessee's football team being good, much less great. My prayer for you is this:

1. Thank you Father for Neyland and Your hand in his healing.
2. Father, please help Neyland to healthily and happily grow to adulthood with no recollection of the University of Tennessee's football team NOT being great!!
