Neyland stadium was voted the number one college venue in the nation for i dont know how many years in a row. The list was done by ESPN and was a top 10 for college venues so check it out

I love our stadium, and I never miss a chance to tell the Pac 10 fans out here about how poor their college football experience is.

you know, its ok the fist time, if you are really drunk, but the second time, It dosnt matter how drunk you are its too much in too little space. From game to game I would rather watch on TV. Down in houston I had much more fun going to games simply cause you had a little breathing room.

There's nothing I enjoy more than to take an out of town friend or even a local with no college football stadium experience to a UT game. They come away saying that was THE best experience in sports they've had.

In 1993 or 1994, when we played Duke for Homecoming, my roomates and I went camping in the Smokies on friday night, ate some things that grow out of the ground, I think they call them "shrooms", met some bikers from NYC and London, England, camped out with them all night, and decided to take them to the game the next day to show them what Tennessee football was all about. Both of those bikers had the time of their lives!!! They wrote a year later and we still keep in touch to this day. They said they had never experienced anything like it!!

Don't knock it 'til you try it. And in AZ... UA is a basketball school, and ASU students are more concerned with finding the party rather than the football stadium. I would not exactly call that state a great point of reference.

I've been to all but South Carolina in the SEC. I've been to OU, Texas, ATM and Nebraska. There is no doubt in my mind that Neyland is the best site and experience for NCAA football. It's not just the stadium and the game (although the game is by far and away the most important) but all that goes on around the game.

We all knew it all of the time. :biggrin2: Somehow, ESPN, in their estute wiseness, had to take a poll to find out what we have known all along. :tease2:

Now they need to take another poll to find out that Shields-Watkins Field is the best football field in the nation. :whistling:

Then they need to take another poll to find out that the Checkerboard is the best End Zone in the Nation. :whistling:

Was it the shrooms or the stadium that made them love it

It makes me mad every year when corso and herbstriet are talking about all of our fans yet they make it a point to say that were not the loudest fans they give that to LSU and Auburn fans i find it hard to believe because we out number them by thousands it just pisses me off to hear that stuff

Honestly smoke, Neyland is not the loudest. Too many folks who've had tickets through three divorces come to the game and sit on their hands.
Then proceed to carp at others around them who wish to cheer loudly for the Orange.

Could be the loudest easily. Just ain't.

The last time I was in Neyland, I was a little disappointed by how quiet the crowd was. I WAS surrounded by older folks, so that might explain it some. Next time, I wanna sit in the student section.
