yes that is shields-watkins field built in march 1921, i believe it was built by male students as the females looked on and provided some extra encouragement to get it done. the whole school helped that day if i remember correctly.


it was originally built for baseball. the original field the vols played football on was called Wait Field which was a block or 2 north of shields watkins field.

Capacity vs announced are 2 different things. I think the capacity back then was 104K.

The East Club and TN Terrace have taken some seats out.
