In honor of our Veterans, a request for a moment of silence was made during halftime tonight.

I can tell you it is one of my proudest moments EVER as a Volunteer fan. If you weren't there, you can't imagine the respectful silence in General Neyland's house. There are several Vets in our section. And the POTSB did an amazing job paying tribute to each branch of the service.

I fully expect the smart remarks that are coming. But I also hope you put aside those thoughts for a moment and be proud of your fellow Tennessee Volunteer fans, and the Mizzou Tiger fans who were with us tonight, and know that for a moment we were part of something bigger than football.

Happy Veterans Day. And if you're a Veteran please accept my sincere thanks.

It's one thing to be frustrated/mad/whatever at a game but when you compare it to what a lot if veterans have been through it kinda puts it all in perspective.... That being said, 'Far Dewlee!!!

When travis henry got injured the entire stadium went entirely silent. It's weird to have that stadium go mute

One of the proudest moments I have had as a Vol fan. My dad recently passed and spent 25 years in the Army. Today we remembered him as it was his birthday. It was a truly humbling to see the respect and emotion of the entire stadium. Great move by UT. Proud to be a Volunteer today regardless of the game.

I had chill bumps. It was a great moment. Plenty of Mizzou fans told me how impressed they were with the Pride of the Southland Band and the hospitality of Vols fans.

It was very touching. My favorite patiotic moment in Neyland was our 1st game back after 911 against LSU. The entire stadium chanting USA. The respect the players from each side showed was amazing.

Every year my bday falls on Veterans Day, my father grandfather and brother in-law are all veterans and to me this day should mean more for them than me! Was proud to be there today to hear the silence!

Not poor taste. Truth. but aren't most places silent when asked fore a moment of silence though?

Really? Do you even know what I'm talking about? Did you bother to read the subject matter of the post, or did you just hurry to make a flippant remark?
