I think it's funny that some journalist or want to be journalist say that coaches like Gruden should stay in the NFL. How many coaches in the NFL in the present time are treated the same way as college coaches. They get a good pay check and the city treats them like royalty if the coach pulls of winning seasons. Especially if the pull of SEC and National Championship seasons. They get stadiums, arenas, and roads named after them. Heck, they even get babies named after them. If you make a name for yourself as a great college coach the sky is the limit.

I think people put too much into weather a guy is a pro coach or a college coach.

For exampe with Gruden they would say "He won't do well at college b/c he'll be too hard on the guys!"

If you flip the script though and Gruden's history was as a successful college coach moving to the NFL they would say, "Gruden won't be able to boss around grown men who make more than him like he did them college kids."

A successful coach is a successful coach.
