What is the reason for this? I have seen a couple NFL coaches in suits but don't know why they are dressing this way?

Mike Nolan of the 49ers asked the leauge for permission to do so earlier this season. His father dressed this way when he was a coach and he felt that it would add a sense of professionalism and class to the sidelines.

He was denied at first, but was allowed to do so for the first time yesterday.

It's a cool change, just something different.

My first thought tonight when they were showing a split screen of the coaches was, "Why are they showing the owner/GM/team president opposite of Coughlin? And why is he wearing a headset? Oh, it's Jack Del Rio."

What are you talking about? Nothing screams millionaire like a sleeveless hoody.

Why in the world would the NFL not allow a coach to wear a suit on the sideline. That is absolutely absurd.
