What school is RB U? Miami among teams that can make claim - NFL.com

7. Tennessee Volunteers

Draft picks the last 25 years: 15
The skinny: The glory years of Vols football certainly contributed to their place on the list despite things trickling off a bit after 2005. Six of the 15 draftees turned into NFL starters and that's not even counting undrafted star Arian Foster, the NFL rushing champ in 2010 and another Vol who became an All-Pro at the next level. Head coach Butch Jones has a good stable in the backfield in Knoxville already and recruiting in the area is going well, too.

We should be higher than bama, we had Cobb Webb Henry Lewis Garner just to name a few they had a few good ones the last few years but looking over the last 25 year, we are better than them.

I like everyone on that list, but PSU seems awfully high to me. Outside Larry Johnson I cant think of a stud RB they have had in the league, or a bunch of high draft picks for that matter. Maybe James Franklin and Sandusky are fogging my memory so help me if I you can.
That 2001 Miami team should leave them on the list for the next ten years

Blair Thomas, ki-jana carter, and Curtis enis. They were all top 10 picks I believe, but didn't do squat in the league

The U should top the list for sure. The Vols should follow at 2nd. The rest is a flip of the coin.

Charlie Garner, Jamal Lewis and Arian Foster alone should have the Vols in second based off of the production of these three........

Going back much farther, Lydell Mitchell and Franco Harris (early 1970s) add more credence to this spot. The problem with these narrowly imposed time frames is how much they can skew overall impressions of the historical productivity of players at a given position within a particular program. If you limited it to the 1960s and 1970s, there could only have been one answer for this question: USC was churning out All-American tailbacks like clockwork. During the late '60s and early '70s, we were producing All-American linebackers with almost the same degree of regularity.

Little Man Stewart, Travis Henry, Montario Hardesty were all good in the NFL. And shouldn't we at least get 1/3 credit for Ontarrio Smith?
