I was just wondering the thoughts of the board on whether a team (Buffalo, for example) relocated to Toronto or if an expansion team ended up there.

Rather than going into a bunch of issues like whether there's a suitable stadium (there is), what it would mean to the CFL (which currently isn't the issue), or whether there's enough talent to warrant expansion (there is), I'd rather just focus strictly on whether you believe Toronto to be suitable for an NFL team. And, regardless or the answer, why or why not?

I think there's many other US cities that are chomping at the bit to have a NFL team and could support them but if Toronto did get a team it wouldnt bother me.

It bothers me more when a team, be it NFL or any other pro sport, leave a city then the league scrambles to put a team back. They didnt support them the first time then let somebody else have a shot.

I'm all for it. Contrary to GreveHaller, I'm not sure there are many cities in the US that could support a team (other than LA) that doesn't have one already. Every major market has a team but LA. Isn't Jacksonville in trouble, too? Something about a lot of blacked out games.

One of the things that doomed Jacksonville is that they didnt implement the dreaded PSL which is vital for small market teams to be finacially successful. When the team is doing bad, fans dont go. Then they have to raise the ticket prices and again, fans dont go. You eventually end up in the same boat as Jax is in now. Shame.

Goodell seems more anxious to move a team to London before Toronto

...not that that'd be a good thing either, but still

LA will get one before anyone else.

Yeah. Wonder who it will be

a part of me doesn't want to see Jax go b/c they're the last (and main) rival the Titans/Oilers have had left

(though it's probably fair to say that if more fights break out at the Texans game again like last year, that one will be just about there)

Texans Titans rivalry seems to make sense.

IMO the league is perfect as is if they move the Jaguars to LA.

I totally agree with you. It wouldn't bother me either if there was a team in Canada.

I can't stand it either, when a team leaves a city, then they turn around sometime afterwards to put another team in the same city.

I like the way the league is set up now. All the divisions, geographically, pretty much make sense. If JAX moves to LA and are still in the AFC South, it makes as much sense as the Falcons being in the NFC West for so long. I guess you could argue LA is southern California, but relative to where the other teams are located it doesn't.

Their doesn't need to be any expansion: 32 teams is enough. How would divisions be aligned with 33 teams?

Canadians only care about hockey. I do think Buffalo has toyed with the idea of playing a few home games across the border.

what most of the sports analysts seems to be saying will happen is that, if JAX does move to LA, after a few years you'd see a small divisional realignment where Jacksonville would then be placed in the NFC West and the Rams moved to the AFC South.....which would make sense, considering it doesn't seem all that proper that a midwest team (in St Louis) should be in a division with teams that are are all out on the west coast either

If by "toyed with the idea of playing a few home games across the border" you mean "they've already played home games in Toronto," then yes, yes they have.
