at least Antrel Rolle thinks so. Some of these guys just need to decline interviews

In an attempt to defend ripping Giants fans Tuesday for booing the team, Rolle said: "They want to make it that guys paid this much money for a ticket. Yeah, I understand that, I understand completely. We risk ourselves out there on the field each and every day also. When soldiers come home from Iraq you don't boo them. I look at it the same way. I take my job seriously."

of course after he was scolded he decided to issue an apology

Antrel Rolle compares booing players to booing soldiers coming home from Iraq, later apologizes

what's with the U players and their soldier references? I thought the fatigues went out in the 80's

After the apology he then went on to say that its his mother's fault he is not politically correct. He said something to the effect of if you don't like it blame my mom. This guy is an idiot.

People who are paid millions of dollars to play a game are equal to people who are paid far less to risk their lives? Yeah. That makes sense. :fool:

I believe the root of the problem with these crybabies is that they actually view themselves in some kind of heroic manner. Mostly because the American public has made it ok for athletes to act like this and get away with it. We, as a society, need to quit holding up athletes as heroes. Until this changes these people will continue expect preferential treatment. I know that virtually none of them will ever take up arms to defend anything other than their precious "bling" or what ever they bought with their multi million dollar signing bonus. The next time your child buys a poster, make it a 20 year old serving in Vietnam, Normandy or Iraq. Let's not make another donation to the Leonard Little (or your favorite NFL player) criminal defense fund.

/rant complete, dismounting soapbox
