We don't need these Super Bowl halftime type shows to kick off the season. Your product is top notch and interesting, it does not need to be supplemented with this garbage. Not much of a thread just had to get off my chest.

It's pretty ridiculous. I don't see why there's a need to incorporate acts like Pink and Kelly Clarkson into the NFL. No one is going to enjoy that crap and new fans aren't going to be attracted by pregame and halftime shows. If you must incorporate a live music show, put someone out there that your average American man is going to like. That's the best way to please the majority of your audience.

You'd think that major sports would have learned that pop stars don't accomplish anything more than annoying the fanbase when ashley simpson got booed off the stage during halftime of the bowl game.

Believe it or not, people watch football games because, well, they're playing football, not for fireworks and lousy music.

Football knows it's product is good. Putting young hot female pop artist in there isn't going to drive anyone away. It will just add to the fans.

Worst case scenario you get some young female viewer that buys a Drew Brees jersey because she thinks he's cute because she saw him after the concert. Money in the bank son, money in the bank.

I don't have the numbers on me but my guess is that the "American Man" doesn't mind 20-something girls hop and jump around a stage in minimal clothing.

Kelly Clarkson and Pink aren't attractive. Janet Jackson's 40 year old, withered, and pierced breast is certainly not attractive. Justin Timberlake is Justin Timberlake.

Janet Jackson is an attractive woman, to the masses. Kelly Clarkson is an attractive woman to the masses. Pink is an attractive woman to the masses.

I'm not taking the personal view on all of this. I'm taking a business, money making point of view. Pink, Clarkson, and Timberlake all appeal to a younger crowd. That gives younger people, that usually wouldn't watch football, a reason to watch.

The NFL knows that having people like that perform will never, ever, ever, drive away the base of fans they already have that are football minded. Therefore, it's a win-win situation for the NFL. Like I said the worst thing that can happen is that they will have young kids becoming interested and buying NFL Equipment.

It's all business baby, and no matter how much you or anyone else whines about how you don't like it the fact is that you will watch games this year and possibly buy equipment. You will not be driven away because Timberlake is bringing "Sexy Back" during halftime.

They are three of the least attractive female singers out there. None of them come close to being on the same planet as the league that Jessica Simpson is in.

You're totally missing the point I'm trying to make.

I get it. I don't think appealing to the musical interests of 12 year old girls (the fanbase of Pink and Clarkson) is going to attract any new NFL fans.

12 year old girls? I'm 23 and I have female friends that love Kelly Clarkson and believe it or not listen to Pink. Make a witty comment if you will, but the simple fact is they will not lose anyone, therefore they have nothing to lose.

You must be out of touch with your pop culture.
