The combination of the NFL RedZone Channel & Fantasy Football caused me to run out of beer, again!

Seriously, NFL RZ is best addition to modern football since the superimposed first down marker and mega-boosters. :)

They might as well rename Red Zone after something fantasy football-related, since that's exactly who its aimed at.

My only complaint with RZ, is that you have to pay DirecTV $350 for the entire NFLST. No option for just the RZ channel. When I was living out of state, I had the NFLST to watch the Titans, and the RZ channel is the. greatest. ever.

Not true. Uverse has RZ for like $5, so do most cable companies

I giggle for seven straight hours every Sunday at all the folks watching the regional games on Fox and CBS.

RZ is too good to be true. The more popular it becomes I imagine the networks will make a stink and force the hand of the NFL in some capacity.

The DirecTV Redzone channel is a separate entity from the NFL's version that they sell to cable companies and Dish Network. If you call and ***** about it not being included in the sports package and you are considering switching providers because you don't have $350 to spend on Sunday Ticket when all you really want is one channel it just... might... work...

Pretty sure that the "directv redzone channel" and the "NFLs version" are exactly the same thing.

Unless it is different this year then that is not true. For starters, the DirecTV version has been around longer, is a feature of Sunday Ticket and the two channels have different hosts. It is the same basic content, but you are wrong.

Red Zone Channel
This channel acts as a viewer's "remote control" and switches around various NFL games as plays of interest occur (scoring plays, key turnovers, etc.) The coverage is hosted by Fox's Andrew Siciliano and has been offered on some airlines, such as Jet Blue.
As of the 2007 season, this channel is provided in HD.
This is not to be confused with the NFL Network's RedZone channel, which is produced separately with a different host. That channel airs at the same time on Dish Network, various cable systems, and also on Verizon Wireless smartphones.

The NFL RedZone Channel is a special game day only channel airing from 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT - 8 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT with extended highlights, available on Sundays during the regular season, which premiered on September 13, 2009; although a DirecTV produced channel under the same name was available to DirecTV subscribers as part of NFL Sunday Ticket prior to this date and in fact continues to run concurrently. So far AT&T U-Verse, Comcast, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Dish Network, Golden Belt Telephone, Verizon FiOS, Blue Ridge Communications, BendBroadband, Buckeye Cable, and several smaller cable companies have picked up the new channel.The channel is available in both standard and high definition, and availability depends on service tier, such as Charter making NFL Network available on their main digital tier, but with RedZone only on their digital sports tier at an additional cost.
