I still can not see how Vandy missed their chances at the end, that said, seems when we play them luck is normally on their side. Another nice win.

There is no column called lucky win. It's either a W or an L and on this night, the good guys got the W.

This little comment is not worth its own personal thread. Just post it in the game or post game thread where it belongs.

Rational posts such as this simply don't fly here at VolNation.

Damn... 3rd game in 6 days... even I didn't realize it was that little time. It's no wonder we tanked at the end of each half!

It looked like he rushed the hell out of it. And it looked like if he didn't, he would have run out of time. I don't think it's as bad of a miss as people think... He had to hurry, and it's really hard to make a shot, from anywhere, when you're forced to rush it.

If he doesn't hurry there but makes it, I'm willing to bet the clock goes off first. Just my 2 cents.

How was this a lucky win? Vanderbilt is a horrible basketball team, THEY were lucky to be in a position to win the game. There were several calls and no calls that played to Vanderbilt's favor that put them in a position to win. We deserved to win that game and we did.

I don't believe in luck.

I'm with ya on this one. It wasn't luck, but Josh Richardson. Who reached in a put a hand on the ball as the vandy player was driving for the last real shot attempt. IMO if not for that he makes that driving layup as time runs out, and we lose. As it is I think it was a under appreciated game winning play by Richardson.......GBO,VFL

I don't know how much Richardson got his hand on the ball. Lopez was on Johnson and rode him the whole way. Richardson barely missed tapping the ball out on the rebound so Vandy didn't get a put back. McBee stood there and let his guy go by uncontested to the rim for the put back though and he even acknowledged it in the post game.

Go to 4:27 mark.

It's hard to see from that angle at full speed, but on the replay's of the live broadcast they showed another angle from the baseline in slow mo,and it is vary clear Richardson sticks his hand in there and pulls at the ball. Right at the time the vandy player is picking up his dribble to go up for the layup. Causing him to regroup for just a split second before going up with the shot. I agree after looking again Lopez being there helped, But i really think since Lopez was just standing with hands up. Had Richardson not got his hands on the ball the Vandy player goes over top of Lopez for a much easier shot.

Curious if Vandy had won would there be discussion as to why CCM didn't have Stokes in the game down the stretch?

Martin's comment after the game was that he thought Hall provided them with better on ball defense. Stokes isn't the best defender. He did have some blocks though. If you watch, teams go at Stokes and Golden constantly. Henderson had 13 points against Stokes and is usually a complete joke on the floor.

Vandy had spread the floor so wide thought that I don't know if Stokes would've been part of the first shot. He might've gotten the rebound. I really don't know why McBee was in there instead of Moore though. I doubt Moore lets his guy go right around him and get a free put back. Moore probably snags that board. Richardson barely missed the tap out. McRae is also just standing there watching it unfold. We were fortunate for sure on that last play, but if we make our free throws then it doesn't even come down to a last second shot.
