What kind of future do you all think he will have at UT. I still believe Crompton is our future, but I think this kid could be special. He as a rocket for an arm, and he makes good choices with the ball.

If he redshirts he could start when Crompton graduates or if Crompton gets injured again. Doesnt have any food speed like both of the Clausens from what I remember.

My hunch is he wont ever see a down at UT. We had higher rated qb's come in and transfer due to being down on the depth chart.

Scout rates Nick as a 4 star prospect. I think Rivals only rated him a 3 star because he had to sit out his junior year and they didn't see him play enough to award him a 4th star. As for what I think he will do at UT, it's just too early to say until I see how he competes the next couple of years. He certainly has the arm and the accuracy, but his speed is a concern. The things we don't know about him are his leadership skills, football IQ, poise under pressure, field vision, work ethic, etc. There's just too much unknown about him for me to make a judgement on him yet. I think after he's had a year to adjust, then it will be a better time to ask what he can do as a Vol.

Coach Taylor was here about 6 weeks ago for a BOC meeting. His take on Nick is that he will be a very nice surprise. When Trooper was here, Nick was still finishing HS, but he's seen tapes and heard Cutcliff's impression.

I think he will be better than the Clausen Duo, mainly because he will not be tainted by Randy Sanders.....That fact alone excites me. Having been around a while, and following recruiting as close as I do, I dont put all my faith in these stars that recruiting companies put on these kids. If you think about it, there is only a few recruits each year that live up to their 5 star status.....more often its the guys like this years Dorian Davis, that makes these guys less credible. Thats my opinion anyway....
