NIL and Agents

Yes, agents get a cut of everything that is offered to the players.

I’ve seen anywhere from 10-30%. In the NFL agent compensation is static, but these “agents” can literally charge anything they want

I hope the way Tennessee handled this reins in some of these agents tactics.

Time for all of the commissioners of the leagues to get together and get a grip on this NIL nonsense and transfer portal. Make these kids sign contracts or go to a set amount per your starting rank/position for all schools with incentive based riders like they do with the coaches. Also need to go to only one free transfer before you have to sit a year. This holding out junk is selfishness. I get that anything can happen and you not make millions but that is life and the risk everyone takes. I’m glad TN held their grounds and said goodbye because he wasn’t all that great as he had a decent OL and good receivers to throw too but he couldn’t hit them down field. This was all about money.
Are you really that oblivious to the federal court decisions that say that the commissioners can do no such thing?

It is not illegal. This model does not keep the kids from making money from their name, image or likeness. This is strictly for them to play at the universities. The NIL is for endorsements for their sponsoring products but college sports is using this to recruit and pay kids. The transfer portal is still open for kids to move but that has not been deemed illegal for them to limit transfer spots. Leagues can prevent or block a kid from transferring to rival schools but they usually don’t.

Of course it's illegal. What you advocate is for the commissioners to conspire to violate federal law and federal court decisions.

Thats how the commissioners face RICO charges in addition to the federal law violations.

You're just advocating a backdoor way for them to do it.
