Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite Chatter

Not good.

Looks like Zelda wont be coming in March.

Disclaimer: Everything in this blog post is rumor until proven otherwise. Please take everything with a grain of salt.

Breath of the Wild is one of the largest games — if not the largest game — that Nintendo has ever developed. It’s probably larger than Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, and Wind Waker combined.

In early September, I heard rumblings that the localization for the game was becoming more work than anyone had anticipated. They have to localize all of the game’s text, NPCs, quests, etc. Then, around October, I received another update that Zelda’s localization was still not going as smoothly as planned. “A very ambitious game, maybe even too much” claimed one particular source.

That brings us to the month of November. More sources have now come forward and corroborated my information. They’ve told me that localization for Breath of the Wild might not be finished until the end of December. After localization is completed, this game will require between (at least) four-to-six months of testing. As I mentioned earlier, this is one of Nintendo’s largest and most ambitious games ever. The amount of testing required for a huge open-world game like this is enormous. Nintendo’s intention is to have the game as bug free as possible.

Based on what I’ve heard, I have no reason to believe that Breath of the Wild will be a March title. There’s a much higher chance of Breath of the Wild being a summer 2017 game.

On an unrelated note, I’ve also heard whispers of the Switch version of BoTW running more smoothly than the Wii U version. Furthermore, I hear the final version of the game is a bit harder than what the press and media played at E3. Actually, I hear they toned down the E3 demo’s difficulty a tiny bit because they wanted journalists and press members at E3 to have fun exploring.

That’s all for now, but keep your eyes peeled for my next blog post. I’ll be discussing other Switch games later this week.

Gracious, so they are going to delay Zelda yet again? Wasn't it originally supposed to be out by the end of 2014?

This is turning into Nintendo's version of The Last Guardian.

Ha; funny thing though I'm guessing there are some kind of licensing issues with the orginal Contra, because it's not on the Mini-NES, nor has it been released on any version of their Virtual Console.

Ya, I member!

Super C, though, right?

Rumored launch window titles for Nintendo Switch...

The most interesting thing in that list IMO is the notes with Just Dance 2017. Evidently the Joy Cons are motion sensored like the Wii Motes! That's pretty darn cool if true because that means the Switch Virtual Console might contain a lot of classic Wii games that can be played with the motion controls. I'm guessing the sensor bar is built into the handheld unit. If you notice the shots of it when it's docked, the top of it sticks out a little above the dock itself. My guess is the top of the handheld unit contains the sensor bar.

Update on mini NES: it does have Contra, it's just called Super C for copyright reasons, I suppose.

New Switch exclusive announced called "Seasons Of Heaven."

AnyArts Production, an independent developer based in France, has announced Seasons of Heaven, a new adventure game coming exclusively to Switch.

The story of Seasons of Heaven is based on a French novel of the same name by Nicolas Augusto, which centers on a group of survivors in a post-civilization world. The game runs on Unreal Engine 4 and follows Yann, a young boy with Asperger’s syndrome, and Ani, his French bulldog. Both characters are playable.

I read that the strong rumor is GameCube games will be coming to the Switch's Virtual Console and that you will be able to transfer purchases from the Wii U to the Switch at no cost. If true, that's another great reason to get one.

Also, it's being reported that the removable "JoyCons" will have motion capability! What that means is Wii games could potentially come to the virtual console to be played on the Switch. That'd be pretty cool!

If they bundle up a launch console with Zelda (or even better release a special edition) I'll for sure preorder one.

I just hope they don't drive the supply down like they did with the mini-nes

When is the official release date? I'm getting pretty excited for it.
