Have been considering an Xterra for a utility/dog vehicle.

I know about the Strawberry Milkshake of Death problem.

Anyone have/had one and has an opinion one way or the other on them?

I'll hang up and listen.

My cousin has a 2002 xterra I believe. Over 200k miles and runs like a champ still

I have a 2003 Frontier, which is basically the same thing. It's s solid bang for your buck truck.

Drove a 2005 Xterra for 11 years with no real issues. Outside of basic maintenance I maybe spent $1k on it (besides mods). Had almost 140k miles when I finally traded it in. Loved that truck.

No Xterra info to pass on but a suggestion. A small Toyota or Nissan truck with a topper. Both very long term dependable vehicles. Dogs get muddy, they go in the back & the clean up would be whole lot easier than trying to clean the interior. Wife needs some landscape timbers, problem solved. You wanna haul that burger fryer you got to a buddy's place, done. Stick someone with that new stabber, easier to load body in the back, go to the river bridge & then to the car wash. Trucks are tool while I'm not sure what a suv is. Is it a half truck & half station wagon? Suv's remind me of a fish/ski boat combo....... which ain't really good for neither.

I go back and forth on the truck vs utility vehicle
