I know this may have been asked and I know everyone would choose the NCAA over the NIT...BUT what if we went to the BIG DANCE and lost in the first round or what if we win the NIT and finish in the top 25, which one would you pick?????:whistling::dunno:

The forum it was posted in was called "Tennessee Vols Football."

There is no "Vols Forum" that you can post in. That's just a collection of all the forums that contain different Vol sports. Didn't you wonder why it was moved?

It has been asked 100,000 times. And you're right, the overwhelming majority picked the correct choice: go to the NCAA tourney and lose in the first round.

So if you knew the answer, why'd you post it for the 100,001 time?

yeah USCjr sure got a big boost to their bball program winning the NIT. It would be a nice way to end the season but an NCAA game is better

If you knew the outcome of each, for sure the NIT. But the original eye test says NCAAT >>>> NIT everyday, all day.

Sorry, but this year I'd rather have a NIT championship over a first round loss. It's still good tourney experience, extra playing and practice time and builds confidence for next year.

Might night hold true every year but for us the NIT was probably better this year.
If we get 2 or 3 games for Stokes and as Martin said this week adding new wrinkles to the offense, then 4 or 5 more games in Europe, we could get a much better start next season.
IF we can get to NY it's much needed road experience.

Even if you lose in the first round if the NCAA you can still practice until the tourney is over. Better competition in the NCAA as well. I take that over the NIT anyday.

For one thing, Cuonzo's never been to the NCAAT as a coach. The experiencing of handling the preparation, the daily schedule, the environment, being away from home and school, all these things prepare you better for when we get in next year.

I will say though that this year's NIT field is pretty decent, and the rest of the team in our quadrant (MTSU, Minnesota, and Miami) provide a good yet winnable test.

I don't put a lot of stock in experiences as an assistant because you aren't the one making the decisions.

But saying he's never been to the tourney as a coach before is 100% false. Sure, he may not have been making as many decisions, but being there once as an assistant provides another world of experience compared to one that has not been.

Jeez, of course I meant as a head coach. He also went as a player. He was one of Keady's assistants. Calm the f down.
