For anyone debating UT's chances of an at large bid here is a version of the report the selection committe uses to decide who is in and who is out. The Nitty Gritty Report for 2011-2012 NCAA Men's College Basketball - WarrenNolan.com This report has been color coded to make it easier to read. Note that many bubble teams have "negative" columns and UT has 3, one of which is their overall record. If they can win the last two and 2 in the SECt this negative would go to neutral and UT would stack up against many of these other bubble teams.

Nitty Gritty has UConn at 30 and UT at 90.

They have 2 more wins and the Vols smoked them.

CCM should offer the NCAA a play-in game vs CT.

Those bad out of conference losses are going to bite them when it comes to their NCAA chances. The way they're playing now you figure they would have won at least a couple of them if they were played now. This team has improved a lot. Still needs to clean up the ball handling and hit shots more consistently but you got to like the toughness on defense. They seem to know their roles better now also. 20 wins might give the committee something to consider anyway.

i have no doubt if we played these games now:

@ oakland
vs pitt
vs AP
@ charleston
@ UGA

we would go atleast 3-2, instead of 0-5. we'd be sitting at 19-10(9-5), and would be a lock for the NCAA tournament. at this point we would just be fighting for seeding, and winning out as we're talking about would put us at 21-10(11-5), and probably a 5 seed...:cray:
