McClary, a top-100 prospect nationally, landed an offer from the Vols on April 8. He has continued to pile up offers since then, with Michigan, Ohio State, Southern Cal, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Illinois and Minnesota all having offered him since mid-April.
McClary has played running back, quarterback and linebacker for his high school team, and he put up impressive numbers on both sides of the ball during his sophomore season. On defense, he made 131 total tackles — 99 solo — with two sacks and 20.5 tackles for loss. On offense, he rushed for 2,107 yards and 27 touchdowns while also throwing for 504 yards.
247Penn State has already hosted him on multiple visits and is believed to be among the early favorites to land him. He also visited Florida in April to attend the Gators' spring game.
