Albert pujols won the national league mvp earlier today...i personally think andruw jones was more deserving...your thoughts?

He had a monster year, but in the end, I think it was just really hard for some writers to vote for a guy who hit under .270. I really think they could have given it to either guy.

I would have given it to Jones. The man single-handedly carried a team to the post season. How much more valuable can one get?

I tend to agree. Plus Jones might just be one of the 2 or 3 best defensive outfielders of all time.

I don't think he's the best defensive outfielder in the game right now, but that's just me. He and Ichiro are both very good.

But still, I would give Jones the MVP. As far as the AL, as much as I hate A-Rod, they got that one right.

Little known fact to those outside of St. Louis - Albert Pujols carried the injury-riddled Cardinals for the majority of the season, while Jones had his power surge for about a 6 week span.

If not for Barry Bonds and his steroids, this would've been Pujols' 3rd or 4th MVP award. The guy is just an incredibly consistent player... I guess that's why his sick numbers get taken for granted. He's expected to do this every year, while Andruw Jones finally had the monster season that everyone had been waiting on for nearly 10 years.

This was probably Pujols' worst season to date as far as numbers and stats go, but still deserving of the award nonetheless.

Ichiro is definitely faster, but nobody gets a jump on a ball like Jones.

Agreed! The guy flirted with the Triple Crown for most of the season. No respect.

He should have thought of that before he signed with the Cubs.

If Lee could've kept up the Triple Crown pace, no doubt he should've won the MVP...

But, he didn't. Too bad they don't give a first half MVP award.

Did he even end up leading in batting average? Jones led in HR and RBI, so he didn't get those...

Lee had a great year, but he needed outrageous stats to overcome playing on a team that finished 10 games out of the Wild Card.

I've been trying to shed this season for some time, and you guys are giving me a tough time doing it...
