1. The announcement of Dooley' firing needs to be made right away to "move on" from a disappointing hiring and mediocre results.
2. Hire a coach who can recruit nationally and is no nonsense on discipline, both on the field, and off of it.
3. This coach needs to be a proven coach with name recognition with recruits knowing that he can develop their skills and take them to the next level.
4. We as Vol Fans need to face facts: The additional two years of probation from that slimy Kiffin, made the search more difficult, but the new coach will be taking the reins of a program that is not in that bad of shape. It's not like we have been losing ten or more games the last few seasons. Even if Bray, CP, Hunter, and the rest bolt for the NFL, the right recruits with a deeper roster will make us very competitive in the East next year.
5. Our new coach needs to excite our fan base right away, and do an amazing job between now and signing day to remove some of the apathy that has set in.
Better days are ahead Vol Fans! We are Tennessee and will be back giving our rivals more reason to dislike us-by winning, sending players to the NFL, and playing sound football!

Two things---replace mediocre with "dismal" and these sanctions don't really affect things too terribly much!
