It's been that way since 2009. Every time I see a LB chasing a play into the flat and giving up the corner, I cringe.

That S Alabama QB made our DL and LB's look like clowns! I said it during the game...noooooooooo speed whatsoever on the outside. You'd think just because they wear the orange T on their helmets theyd be good or at least even with other SEC players..but we're not and its alarming.

Absolutely true...we had the slowest DBS in the conference last year and I haven't seen any burners this year either. It forces us to give too much cushion and then we take bad angles...

I really believe we need to play power football on offense and try to limit the Ds time on the field...we don't need an up tempo O if our D can get people off the field

We can't contain on the perimeter and we look horrible tackling in open space. Yes, it's a speed and athleticism issue. With the exception of a few players, we are mostly an OVC team regarding football talent, and that's not an exaggeration. That's why I'm going to give Butch some time before I tell myself it ain't workin.

What gets me is why run this style of offense if you don't have near the athletes to do it especially at the QB position. I say we line up in the I formation and just run the ball and keep the game out of Worleys hands because this guy sucks big time

I have that thought after just about every game. People act oblivious to what has been going on the past 4-5 years.

it was the main offseason debate. was it coaching or was it talent?

i tried to use the florida offense as an example of a situation where there have been coaching changes and the product has not improved much.

Can't tell you how many times that applied today watching AJ Johnson try to cover the guy in the flat. Painstakingly slow. I'm a huge AJ fan, but when the opposition goes empty backfield he kind of becomes a liability

We definitely have not had a legitimate pass rusher in quite some time.

So true. There's almost no push up front. If you can't get pressure on the QB, I don't care who's playing in the secondary, someone will be open with extra time

Yup. It seems like in recent years a good pass rusher has been the hallmark of all the good SEC teams.
