Why don't we have any shooters? Does Pearl not recruit guys that can knock down the 3 consistently? How do we go from Lofton and JaJuan Smith to having no shooters? We need to get some real shooters in here soon........ plain and simple

Tatum, McRae, and McBee could light it up in HS from 3. Apparently, they forgot how to shoot. Mental midgets.

Chris Jones is a better shooter than anyone UT has TODAY. HE can also create his shot and he will push in transition. I just hope he stays out of trouble and GETS HERE.....

We've got some good shooters....if Bruce Pearl would leave them in the game long enough to break a sweat. He substitution strategy WILL cost us a spot in the tournament.

Scotty Hopson is shooting 40 percent from 3 point range, so is Bone. 40 percent is a very good percentage for a 3 point shooter. Scotty is definitely a shooter and I wouldn't criticize his shot recently. I don't think Scotty is shooting enough from 3. I think he needs to shoot more. Tatum on the other hand is right under 30 percent, he is really struggling this season and shooting some incredibly stupid shots. He has major confidence problems and plays out of control. Goins is also surprisingly shooting 35 percent from 3, which isn't horrible but I think his numbers have started to decrease after his 5/20 performance beyond the ar the past 5 games.

Josh Bone is a shooter. Cameron's supposed to be a shooter. Is Chris Jones really a good shooter? I thought he was just really quick and athletic. Have only seen one highlight tape of his

The emphasis seems to get the ball in the paint and not 3 point shooting. That is fine, but because we don't shoot the 3 pointer well, the opponents jam down the middle making it difficult to finish shots and get offensive rebounds. Since we are a very very poor free throw shooting team, they can foul the shooter and get away with it.

The poster is correct that Pearl recruits athletes over shooters. BTW, how much practice do players get shooting free throws? We arguably lost the Alabama and Florida games on the free throw line. I believe Bama scored 10 points from the stripe in OT and Florida made well over 20 points on the line. We shot our usual 50% or less. We would have beat Florida had Cam made the 1 and 1 at the end of the game.

Hopson definitely needs to be shooting a lot more. I thought Tobias was supposed to have a pretty good jumper?

Hopson has got to shoot more. He really should be shooting as much as Kimba Walker. Don't know why he isn't more aggressive. Tatum should be more aggressive in going to the rim. Our PGs are not where it's at. I thought Golden was a good scorer in HS. And Mcrae can shoot in the few times I've seen him. He just needs to control his talent a lot better. He's as physically talented as anyone on the team. Mcbee is a disappointment. I really thought he'd be a lot better at knocking down open shots consistently. I need to watch Chris Jones, I hope he's what all you guys say he is.

I think part of the problem is not the shooters themselves but the offense we run. How can you expect guys like McBee to get shots out of the flex the way we run it. Don't get me wrong, McBee is often overmatched, but if you watch most teams who run a continuity offense, there are A LOT of screens being set for the scorers/shooters.

Why? Who do we have that is an offensive threat in the post?

What amazes me is that Vandy has shooters and guys that can hit free throws ,while we have rappers on our bench. Plus we have guys that can't close games out from the line. Where are the finishers on this team? Maybe Hopson but he doesn't take charge enough.

We don't recruit players like Jajuan Smith and Chris Lofton anymore. For some reason we've gotten away from recruiting shooters. Honestly I hate it. I don't care about putting players in the NBA, we need a lights out shooter. I don't care about another 6'8 SF that is an athletic freak. Yea we have crazy talent but we don't play like a team. It's just a couple passes and when the shotclock runs out iso. There'a a huge difference in what I believe to be a great college team and a great NBA team. But I guess the half court offense has been a reoccurring problem under Pearl.
