Derek Dooley was retained up until this point for a reason. He was going to be paid by the University regardless of whether or not he was working anymore. Dave Hart wanted to keep him on because he gave us the best chance, or so he thought, to win out and hopefully go to a bowl game. Now that he has no chance of making it to a bowl it would be an atrocious error on the part of the AD to not make the decision now. I would expect, but do not have sources as cited earlier, that an announcement will come soon (it should be tomorrow). This fan base is rarely unified, and now everyone is more than ready to see the same result.

He absolutely has to make a move that allows the fans, players, and recruits to believe in the University of Tennessee again. Here is to hoping that we have an Athletic Director that cares as much about this school and team as we do. I will apologize that I am not adding any new information and pretending like I have sources, I just rarely share my opinion. Good night Vols, and I hope a lot of these posters are not planning on driving tonight!

The final thing he said in the presser says alot. He loves his players and "He has loved everything about Tennessee". He knew he was fired, now let's just hope Hart lets everyone else know NOW.

May be a while for that. I heard I-40 was backed up because the bus had stopped and kicked CDD and all the coaches off and they are now walking!

I don't think he did, my friend. At least not in the last month. You show me a coach who's been giving 100% the last few weeks and I'll show you a unicorn.

Sometimes wanting it to work isnt enough Dooley. Hart needs to be fired as well. He can jump on Bud Ford and run a man that gave his all to Tenn. for 4 decades, but cant do anything about Dooley. Hart you sorry POS %^$#@ You Dave Hart can shove BAMA and Florida St. up your posterior end.

Some people are just selfish. They don't care about the people, they just care about the win. They have zero clue what that man is going through. And once I post this, some egocentric die hard fan who thinks like that will say something to justify their cruelty. That' fine. You have the freedom of speech to do so. You also the freedom to let the man leave in peace and not throw salt on his wounds when he goes. If you are that kind of person and football means that much to you, then maybe you deserve to get disappointed every Saturday.

That maybe a little harsh, but some of you need to take a step back and ask yourself what's really important here. If Dooley was your father, brother, or best friend, would you be saying the things you are saying now? How you would feel if thousands of people were booing someone you care about and demanding they get fired for something they put their heart into? Like any other "normal" person, you would be saying the exact same thing I am. I'm sure the shots are coming, so bring it on. But don't expect a response. Not getting sucked into a pointless debate.

Up until 2 weeks ago I would have said the same but after the last 2 games I think he threw them intentionely.

Normal is relative.

Of all the Dad's in the world, Dooley's needs to tell him it's not too late to fall back on that law degree. I mean that will all due respect. He has chosen the wrong profession, but he's getting paid $5MM to leave. He's lucky! But he is no head coach.

I have been kind of a Dooley fan or at least I supported him as he came into a bad situation but with that said I don't think he could afford to say this.

His statement kind of reminds of the case of this.
