No Spring Game for Kentucky

It seems they can't properly coordinate installing new turf with respect to playing a spring game. How long does it usually take to redo the turf? It can't be five months, can it? Maybe just takes Lexington inbreeds that long :)

College Football Program Has To Cancel Its Spring Game
And with that, I'll start with the jokes:

Q: How did the Kentuckian break an arm and a leg raking leaves?
A: He fell out of the tree.

Q: How do you confuse a Kentucky woman?
A: Put her in a round room and tell her there's jewelry hidden in the corner.

I'll see myself out......;)

As a native Tennessean who lives in Ohio and makes frequent trips to visit family, I’d be happy if we could just excise Kentucky right out of the map/tectonic plate and let the Ohio river be the northern border of Tennessee. Just butt Cincinnati right up to Jellico.

Your first question explains why @joevol33 kept posting pics of the leaves in his yard a few weeks ago

Have to imagine them not having a spring game will show up on the field come fall. Their days of outperformance with stoops might be numbered.

Why would that affect their performance in the Fall? The Spring game is just a show for the fans. Tennessee didn't have a spring game in 2022.
It’s not just for the fans. That’s a silly notion. Scrimmages are the closest thing they get to replicating a games flow/atmosphere. Position drills only do so much. And it’s a chance to create more certainty heading into fall camp. Spring games are valuable. Nobody will convince me otherwise.

At least here, we have the ability to scrimmage on our practice field. I would assume Kentucky has a full field practice field they can run scrimmages on too. It just doesnt accommodate the fans.

They'll scrimmage. They're not going to have a spring game. Those are not the same thing. It will not affect them at all, just as it didn't affect Tennessee last year.

Yes, spring games are for the fans. Saying it's a "silly notion" doesn't change that.

Spring games are basically useless. The 15 on-field practices are what coaches value the most.

Poor big blue nation. Not much for them to look forward to this year for the months of March and April. I guess they can get excited for the nfl draft watching which team will be stupid enough to waste a first round pick on Levis.

It better not be the Colts. And for once, I'm glad the Saints don't have a 1st round pick.

They didn't cancel scrimmages. You sound stupid

You are seriously making fun of Kentucky and you live in OHIO? Dear God man........

Is the lacking of the spring game going to be replaced with another scrimmage? I don’t know that to be true. Every scrimmage counts.

There's no reason they couldnt. If the coaches think its valuable I am sure they will have one.

Exactly. If they want to scrimmage, they will. And the closed scrimmages are far more valuable than the "fan day" spring games because they actually run things that they won't show the public. Spring games are just advertisements. Starters are taken out by halftime, if they even play at all. The notion that this will affect UK's season in a negative way is ridiculous.

But yeah, maybe if Tennessee had held a spring game in 2022, the Vols would have made the CFP. :p
