Anyone else take notice that he signed a LOI with WVa last Friday? Apparently, they think he can meet his eligibility requirements based on an article I read today on Scout.

If he can get in good for him. With Dieon Sanders being his "father - figure" the past year, it's not suprising that he wound up there.

That poor kid is being used by everybody that comes in contact with him

His #s are incredible and they have increased every year. He ran for over 2,000 yards his Sr. season. He could be one of those "once in a _____" backs like McFadden, Bo Jackson, etc. I know UT was in the mix for him at one point and then everyone kind of backed off at once. At least he won't be a Gata.

If Neon Deion would have left him alone he'd be in West Virginia

I heard Deion was pushing him toward FSU, but everyone pretty much backed off him because of his grades, criminal record, and he has like 3 baby's mommas or something.

Edit: It could be that he is simply signing with WVU, but will attend a JC anyway, and come back in 2 years, if possible. On the ESPN report on him, they made it out like we was so "trill" and being true to the hood was more important than a football career or free education. It was really sad because I think all of this is explained by a very bad childhood.

He's only got 1 baby momma. He's had the same girlfriend since middle school, according to an article on SI.com

Rich Rod said, "We're very excited that Noel has made the decision to join the Mountaineer family. We know he is working hard to meet all his eligibility requirements, and we're confident he can get that done."

I guess we can apply the nomenclature of coach speak to this statement, or we can take it for what it's worth and assume that Noel has a chance of playing next year. At this point I hope he does make it just so I can watch him compete at the next level.

IF noel meets his eligibility requirements and goes to west va expect him to be JUST AS FAST as qb and rb (forgot names already, not in a football mode right now:) ) and with rich rod's system expect him to compete for the heisman. but that's a big IF

EDIT: this kid is amazing, go on youtube and type in noel devine... unbelievable

Pat White and Steve Slaton and, yeah, he'd be there top player as a true freshman.

thanks! i watched every game i could that west va played....white is unbelievable and can carry the team on his back, slaton is a gamebreaker and can score from everywhere......yet i think if devine gets in he could be better than both. that to me is scary, if they have 3 guys in the backfield possibly that can outrun the secondary and can score from anywhere on the field....if this happens, look out for west va next year and in 08, they could be scary good

Not only does he have to get into West Virginia, but also get past the clearing house (see Gerald Williams).

Not to mention 5* RB Jason Gwaltney is trying to get back into school/onto the team. That offense could run over the Big East even more so than last year.

This guys highlight reel was unbelievable. To be honest, I didn't see anyone better than him in last years recruiting class videos.

McFadden is a once in a life-time back? LOL :lolabove:, man McFadden has not proven to me that he is all that great. Im not saying he is not good, just not a "Once in a lifetime back".

Devine is a major bust, and is gonna bring horrible baggage to any program he goes to. The kid is nothing but a talented football thug, in all his interviews the kid looks stoned and seems like a thug. Just by seeing him interviewed, you can tell he is trouble.

McFadden isn't that great? Did you watch Arkansas play any games?

Yes i have watched McFadden, and yes i said that he is good. But, to say "once in a lifetime back", is far from the truth. Has he won the HEISMAN yet? until then, he is not a once in a lifetime back.

Devine won't even get into college, and even if he does will not be able to enter the draft due to having about 3 felonies already just getting out of HS, ala PACMAN LOL.

the kid has two kids of his own and two parents that died by the time he was 12. The kid is being treated worse than a racing horse.

Can we not bash him anymore?

His highlight reel is sick!! and was the only player to break away at the army all american game.

I guess Peyton Manning and Ladainian Tomlinson aren't as good as Eric Crouch and Ron Dayne.
