I like her as well, and have no problem how she self promotes herself. And she was so close to coming here as well.

Also, Reese was already "projected" at this level before she drama-performed the national championship game. And what was actually said around here was that while her brand would temporarily soar over the publicity, it is a dangerous long term branding strategy. Political and cultural controversary don't oridinarily wear well with investors over time. It was pointed out that something a bit "safer" and more upscale, say a Mercedes Benz endorsement, probably had more steady staying power over time.

There'll be the companies that love attention at any cost, and they'll go in on it, but they'll all be gambling to some degree that there won't be any more episodes. The real fervent supporters won't care, I guess, but they never cared to begin with.

In any case, what I recall most people saying was that companies will be careful about engaging with her, which is a perfectly reasonable thing to expect after that display in Dallas. Some might be all about her agenda, but I imagine others will evaluate it and pass - or look for other choices, if they so need.

So do u think she won’t be at the top or near the top of earners? I noticed all the news and sports outlets didn’t have a problem with her at all.

I don't follow Reese all that closely, but I don't recall embedding herself with politics and her stance on any cultural issue wouldn't be unlike any other spokesperson. My concern would be an overextension of her name and time. Will it become a distraction? She seems a bit immature. Hope she has a solid advisor. Best of luck to her.

I said companies will think carefully about engaging with her, because they will. Just like they do with any other sports figure that courts controversy and has issues with self-restraint. I didn't say anything about her earnings. I've never said anything about her earnings.

And "All the news and sports outlets didn't have a problem with her" is not an accurate statement. There were people speaking in support of her behavior and people speaking against her behavior. And no matter how many spoke for or against, companies will think carefully about engaging with her.

Ditto. Oversaturation can become a problem. Not always, and I hope it doesn't happen with Angel, but we've all seen how fickle social media society can be. One minute they love you and can't get enough, and the next you're kicked to the curb like sosh-trash.

The profound immaturity is apparently working in her favor -- for now. I suspect one day, after she's grown up emotionally and socially, she may look back on some of these things she's saying and cringe. I think one of the biggest indicators that she's incredibly immature was when she said that they weren't going to accept the invitation to visit the White House because the Bidens didn't pick them to advance beyond Baton Rouge in the tournament. *smh* Can you imagine how stupid she would have felt at age 40 thinking back how she missed out on going to the White House because the President and First Lady didn't pick them to win? lol

Reese is fine, her image and likeness is not tarnished, in fact it has elevated itself since the tourney. She will be amongst the top NIL earners next season, don’t worry on her.

I know we focus mainly on SEC teams or Lady Vol opponents, but shout out to Unaka's Lyndie Ramsey for committing to the ETSU Buccaneers recently. Ramsey was the state of Tennessee's most prolific scorer this past season, averaging 29 ppg. She was a Miss Basketball finalist and Tennessee MVP of an All-Star game pitting some of East Tennessee's best seniors vs. SW Virginia's best, scoring 23 points in that game. Scored almost 3,000 points in high school career. Carries a 4.0 GPA. Should be fun to watch.

ETSU just pulled off the largest turnaround in wcbb last season, going from 6-22 the previous season to 25-10 this season under new coach Brenda Mock Brown. Coach Mock was voted SoCon Coach of the Year by her peers. Of course, we remember that ETSU knocked off Vanderbilt last year.

Hope we can get them back on our schedule. They're a scrappy bunch and play hard. Love to see what Ramsey can do against D-1 competition. She's a baller.

I have given this some thought the past few weeks since the season has ended. As it relates to the SEC, there is no doubt in my mind LSU is the prohibitive favorite to win the conference. As the reigning NC’s, that is not a hard call. They bring back enough of the core group along with at least one immediate starter from the recruiting class along with the expected big name portal players they will once again land.

Some might speculate SC is still in the running, let me remind everyone that 7 seniors just left, 5 were drafted. That was the bulk of the playing experience. There is talent there, but most of it is untested and not much experienced. It’s a transition year in SC. There will be lumps and bumps in 2023-24 season for SC. I think they will be back in contention the following year if the young players develop as expected.

That leaves UT and OM in my opinion as the other teams that might make a run, and to be Frank I could see either challenging for the league lead. I suspect OM, UT and SC will battle for the 2-4 spots next season and cannot see LSU not winning it. SC has to play in BR next year btw.
