No matter how athletic Ole Miss is and tough defense Ole Miss plays, again seems like no one can shoot 10 feet away from the rim. I do think down low Ole have played USC really tough with a lot of blocks. On the other side USC with Brown, Watkins, and Kiki will be tough to beat for anyone.

Supremacy? Unless she can raise her efficiency, she is going to look like an overrated player for player of the year. She scored alot of points, but her shooting percentage was average at best last year and then closing the last 7 games at under 31% doesn't help.

I do and yet i have not seen 1 player that they have coming that's generational ...thats what im saying lol . Fisher ? The overseas player ? Whooooo...Strong is going to play Guard as much as people think she will dominate down low thats just not her game. Think Ice Brady .

Kennedy Smith started for SoCal and played great.

First game of the year in another country, she’ll be fine. She’s shooting 50% now and will do so for the season. She’s far from overrated because she scores at all 3 levels and can defend.

Ole Miss has regained the lead by 1 with under 6 min to play. USC has 24 turnovers so far. After their big 3, no one on USC has done anything.

Idk how this will end up but I've been surprised by how many turnovers USC has had that just seem to be from not being able to handle the ball. I'm not super surprised that a west coast team seems to struggle against a very physical SEC team...ugly game but so fun to have a competitive game to watch on day 1

Two teams that are in poor physical condition. All the hype for an entire off-season regardless of it being the first game of the season some of these mistakes are a sign of bad fundamentals and basketball.
This is why Danny White has proven he is the best AD in the country!
Coach Caldwell was a home-run hire!

Yes, I realize it's the first game and two ranked teams matching up early can look ugly at times. Especially when playing a team like Ole Miss.

That being said, I'm still not sold on Gottlieb's coaching. This is a big year for her, and I'm curious to see if she can get all this talent to gel.

Gottlieb is horrible, she didn’t run any plays for Kiki, she was being iced out for long periods of time.

I agree, I thought both teams looked awful.

Ole Miss execution down the stretch was terrible. That’s been a problem for them during Coach Yo’s entire tenure. She’s a good recruiter a decent motivator but not a good Xs and Os coach.

Gottlieb has the same shortcomings, always has, always will. She talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk.

She cannot coach. Her roster is STACKED. This should have been an easy win for them. She’s a good recruiter and says all the right things but she doesn’t have that IT factor. Never has.

Well I made a post about basketball and then several posters decided to insinuate I’m a bleary eyed alcoholic. I’m not letting that slide, sorry.

This was, for Gottlieb, the best possible outcome today. Her team won, but now she and her players were given a very clear indicator of how much harder they need to work on conditioning. They were given a gift in getting out of there with a win against an SEC team predicted to finish 6th in its conference.

The USC players will be going extra hard in practice this week. They know they are lucky to be 1-0.

Kennedy Todd Williams should not have touched the ball after going 2 of 18, 0 of 5 from 3.
And Juju had 8 or 9 turnovers, no star player should have games like that. Credit to Ole Miss and their tough defense.

Yeah Juju can't turn it over like that. Especially being a mediocre passer. That kills her team.
