She was allegedly running away and calling for help, and it was on video, that’s why she was arrested. Like I said I’m not surprised a school like Sc won’t take domestic violence seriously, especially when it’s a minor.

no but that’s what was reported at the time, and I said “Allegedly” since I didn’t see it myself. I’m sure once she leaves the school the truth will come out, I just hope that little girl is ok.

Not rumors when the VICTIM put it in the police report, so should I believe you or her, now the victim did say she hit her and changed her mind because she didn’t want her in trouble. But we know victims often do that in these situations.

OK, it's not a rumor. It is an assertion, later retracted. Do you possess credible evidence that either the original assertion or the subsequent retraction is factual? In a legitimate court of law, such evidence is often required to avoid having the judge grant summary judgment in favor of the accused.

Again, I neither defend nor accuse the player based on what is publicly available.

Let’s hope we see this video and not 30 years later like some cases. Victims of domestic violence often dot. Press charges, u see it in cases where the men allegedly beat up the woman and the men get released because they got back together, does that mean it never happened? Sc is going to do what’s best for them to win basketball games, that’s why I feel the way I do about them.

First, I join with you in hoping that the minor doesn't get hurt in the future, whatever may have happened in the reported case. As others have suggested, counseling might be helpful to all those involved.

As to your comment, quoted above, it implies that Dawn Staley puts winning games ahead of human decency. I firmly reject your implication. She has a good track record of caring for young women. If you have proof to the contrary, please let us see it. Feelings are not facts.

You just say things out of ignorance and then double down on that ignorance. People like you are not interested in the truth unless it's 'your' truth. You have constantly shown who and what you are. Is this credible enough for you? I’m sure you don’t care about that little girl that was terrorized since she doesn’t play for your school, but here’s the facts for u to read.

The victim, who was listed in the report as a juvenile, told officers she was trying to get away from Watkins after they had gotten into an argument.

The report said after stating to an officer multiple times Watkins hit her,

The victim also said she was not trying to jump off the parking garage ledge, the report said.

EMS determined the victim was not suicidal and cleared her without transport, according to the report.

Do you understand what it means when in a court of law a case is dismissed? It means there is a lack of evidence to substantiate the charges. The only reason you keep beating this dead horse is based on your need to cast dispersions on Dawn and her successful program.

Does not mean there's a lack of evidence to substantiate. In fact it appears to mean the opposite. According to the stories in the press, it meant AW, and hopefully the victim, completed pretrail diversion and other court ordered steps to achieve dismissal. This is common in young, first time offenders.

That is not why this was dismissed. She copped a plea and met pre-trial stipulations to get off as a first time offender with no history of violence. That does NOT mean it did not happen. It actually, very much, means it happened.

As far as that goes, so are you DP and I see Judge VolBall bouncing in with a rejoinder. How bout we allow this one to peacefully return to dirt. We got games tomorrow. The courts made a decision. That’s why we have real judges practicing jurisprudence.

So Carolina fans implying nothing happened are wrong. You don't do pretrial diversion if nothng happened.

But that tweet is way over the top to say flat out she'll do it again. Dismissal after evaluation and diversion in first time offenders happens a million times a day with the aim of stopping repeat offenses. Let's all hope that's the case for AW.

I for one do not wish to speak on the situation as a vols fan because I remember another video that tarnished our recruiting for a decade when Francis was our coach and we had two diff teams on one LV squad .
