Think it’s also interesting how Tara basically commented on it negatively

I remember plum at Washington but I don’t remember all this vitriol towards her..

Also that record is only 3649 which Clark is only about 100 off which could be 2 games for her lol

Kinda hope CC comes back avoids Indy and sets a basically unbeatable record bc 5 years

Both Audrey and Paige coming back for next year. Knock on wood for us UConn fans that the injury woes will be a thing of the past.

Edward and Muhl were cagey about whether or not they’ll come back, and as much as I’d love that, I don’t think they will. They’ve basically been injury free and played significantly for all 4 years. And not being US citizens, apparently they can’t take full advantage of NIL. Outside of a title they don’t have anything left to prove, anyway.

Plum didn’t get even half the hype that CC has gotten. If Washington hadn’t Cinderella’d their way to a Final Four in 2016 I think even less people would know about her setting the scoring record. Plus her run at Washington coincided with Stewart at UConn, which was a much bigger storyline overall.

Which is to say, overexposure is a thing. The media has been hyping up CC for years now and constantly bringing it up in random interviews and I think people are just tired of it.

CC’s whole “you can’t see me” thing probably gets on some nerves too. As far as I remember there was no showboating or taunting that Plum was known for.

Finally someone else said it, nauseating with them pushing her down our throats.

I meant maybe she does a good job keeping up morale on her team.

Thanks. I was thinking of a different meaning of "morality" (like you meant maybe she felt obligated to honor her commitment).

Couldn't make any connection between morality and her coach. 😉

I don’t think she has anything to be bitter about when it comes to anyone, her resume speaks for itself. 3 time WNBA MVP, 3 time Defensive Player of the year and 4 WNBA championships. With all that said I don‘t agree with her spreading misinformatio.

I think I read somewhere that she was partially corrected before the podcast or wherever she was appearing ended. Still curious that she would just glibly downplay Clark's accomplishment by botching the facts so badly. People defending Swoopes were x-ing that she is "entitled to her opinion" as though Clark fans were just upset over her view that Clark wouldn't dominate in the pros as she has in college and that it would take time to adjust, etc. (a very reasonable view). The "opinion" defense is disingenuous because that wasn't the issue.

One big irony is Swoopes alluding to "40 shots a game." In reality, Clark averages about 22 shots per game whereas Swoopes herself actually averaged 24 spg. Oops!

Hard to stand on business when the biz is saying you're trippin'.

Mark my words, Tennessee will dominate the portal this off-season with the current staff or with a new staff.

The success this program has had with Rickea Jackson and Jewel Spear via the portal is the standard.

Rickea could go 1-4 in the upcoming WNBA draft.

If she had stayed at Mississippi State, I’m not sure as talented as a player RJ is that she would’ve ended up being selected 1-4!

Lets GBO🍊

I wouldn't be surprised if we lost Feagin to the portal especially if Dawn signs Sarah Strong. Feagin is too good to not get more playing time.

Clark has only taken 2503 shots and made 47 percent overall and 38 percent of her three point attempts. These are good numbers, but not the greatest three point shooter of all time. Like you said she is no where near 40 shots per game even though when I watch her play it really seems that way.

I look for Clark to comeback to college as well. I think Cardoso leaves and may be the number one draft choice. I expect Rickea would move up to 2 or 3 as most WNBA teams like her in the fifth spot now.

Agree, and feel that way equally about Angel Reese. Especially nauseated bc all of it was mostly based on that embarrassing eruption of bad, juvenile misbehavior on both their parts in the FF last year.

I'm so happy that the dumb behavior was been put aside this year, but it and the constant over hype has left me with a distaste for both.

I don't know why she should. She has the overall scoring record, what's left of her starters from last year will be leaving, so the team will not be that good next year even with her on it. Because of that, a NC is not in the picture after this year, so it would be a waste of time to come back to Iowa instead of entering the pros while she is a hot commodity. CC has nothing to prove personally, so being the #1 recruit and going to a very young team with Boston at the post should be very appealing to her. Indiana is bad now, but the young talent they have will make them a contender for the years to come.

Agree, plus she has a chance to play so close to home where fam and fans can watch her. Indy won't have the first pick next year.

For CC, as well as Paige, the money is not really a factor since both would likely take plenty of endorsements with them to the league. IMO that's only true for the top few players, and it's very disingenous for WNBA media to act all butt hurt when folks point out college money is better for 95% of players. It's simply not true that endorsements carry over or are available for the vast majority. If it were true, they wouldn't all have to play overseas.

Nothing to prove except she likes college. May need another shot at the National title. No reason for a lot of players to comeback, but NIL has made that possible and a lot are starting to do it.

For most, playing in college is still a far better experience with better facilities, better travel, better crowds and treated like royality. That's what Diamond D advised Rickea around this time last year, bless her.

Her boyfriend also works for the Pacers. Lots of benefits for her going pro now and it’s a seemingly great situation for her for personal reasons.

Still one record to break the all time scoring record non NCAA Pearl Moore who scored 4061 points before the NCAA was formed. If Indiana is going to draft her number one I can see the point of leaving college.
