As it stands now, UConn would NOT be in Bridgeport as long as the SEC and B12 can maintain 4 teams each in the top 16.
UConn could still be in the Bridgeport region, but not as a top seed. The #1 seed in each region would be from the two conferences you named. But if Bridgeport is the east region (which it usually is) and UConn is in the east and they win two games at home, they would play in Bridgeport but be a 2 or 3 seed in the sweet sixteen. If they make the sweet sixteen they will play in whatever region they are assigned at the beginning of the tournament. Which is typically the est.

I know the SC fans just love when I bring up officiating…..

This is as bad of a homer whistle as I’ve seen all season. Not a ton of fouls called in general but the difference between how the two teams are being officiated is apparent and a total detriment to Ole Miss.

Yep. It was a detriment to Stanford as well… especially late in that game.

I bet on Missouri on the money line(just to win)against Mississippi State because of Jackson gone and of course Blackwell isn't playing for them. Ugggh.

They beat South Carolina without Blackwell actually. I thought they would get killed in that game because she was out.

I think SC had planned so much for Blackwell in their defensive schemes they were caught off guard she was out. Had to guard a 5 out offense that was hot all night. Blackwell scores in the paint a lot so probably would not have had her best night.

It’s just for early drama I’m sure even when we beat them they will still somehow end up in Bridgeport the committee are not smart lol

I’m just really glad to see they understand North Carolina is an outlier in the Net algorithm. Was wondering if they would be in there or not.

Ole Miss is a much less talented team that SC. They have to do more grabbing and slapping to gain an advantage. Officials are just bad regardless. If this is the most homer game you have seen you haven't watched much basketball.

Coach Yo getting heated over another missed and one call to end the quarter.

I guess coach Yo is not bias. Coach Yo is on the opposite side of the court. The ref is under the basket watching the play. Just because the shot is challenged does not make it "and one". Ole Miss is one of the most physical teams in the SEC. They grab, slap, and push. It was a few push in the backs that the ref did not call on SC attempts at rebounding. All of a sudden, they won't every borderline call. Can't have it both ways.

In my opinion, it's a few things.

First, Vanderbilt is not as invested in athletics as other major programs. They are invested to a degree, but God bless 'em, they treat sports more like a function of the college rather than a business (as the major P5 programs do). That's not necessarily even a bad thing, considering what the money has done to college sports.

Second, Vanderbilt's brand is competing academically with Stanford, and athletically with Tennessee. Vandy's academics are not as renowned as Stanford's, and its athletics program is not as renowned as Tennessee's. It is in a figurative hole that it has to dig itself out of to succeed, and every time one of their major programs loses a good coach, they go right back into that hole. And, considering their school priorities, they aren't really going to try to change that.
Makes a lot of sense. Thanks for taking the time to give me your perspective!

I can guarantee you I’ve watched more than you have.

When Tennesse plays Ole Miss all I hear is how physical and borderline dirty Ole Miss is. All of a sudden now since Ole Miss is playing SC; they are a little finesse team that the ref is picking on. Coming from a SC and Tennessee fan, I think Ole Miss played the same physical brand of basketball against both teams. Don't get me wrong, refs are just bad. I never complain about the refs because I understand that. However, they don't care who wins the game.

They will end up in Bridgeport if they run the table if Tennessee does not hang another loss on them.
