Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

This will be Kansas second 30 point victory over a P5 opponent. They stomped Texas A&M a couple weeks ago. They should be moving into the rankings.

Jackson has been playing great and has superior size. Really talented player who will impact the next level for sure.

Barnes also didn’t do herself any favors trashing the officials and then non-apologizing for it.

Since then I’d bet my bottom dollar she gets the downside of the whistle more often than not. They had 19 fouls to KU’s 12. Free throw disparity was 16-18 for KU and 4-9 for Arizona.

Adia Barnes may know defense, but her teams don't run an actual offense. With McDonald off the the WNBA, good luck. Shooting less than 25% at home is pathetic.
Barnes's teams have always been offensively challenged: not lot of assists, spotty shooting, a lack of cohesion, too much one on one, etc. In the past, forcing turnovers and letting Ari McDonald do her thing covered up those deficiencies, but not this year apparently, since their defense is not very good and there is no McDonald in sight among the guards to save the day. And that despite (or because of?) all the wholesale changes (many transfers in and out, 4 recruits) since last year. (It's worth noting that Barnes apparently "encouraged" a number of players to leave.) It seems to me that there is growing evidence that the Portal works if you're adding a player or two to meet a specific need, but, once the numbers climb, constructing a team that actually plays as a team becomes a challenge.

Arizona loses by 27 at home to Kansas. I guess since they were ranked 12th we need to take a look at the Kansas women team and think they may be a factor in the Big 12 this season. I knew that Maryland vs Purdue game was gong to be a close one. I thought Purdue might take them at home but couldn't quite do it. Still a lot of upsets to come going to be a lot of teams with double digit losses this season that we didn't expect to see.

SEC Women's Basketball Schedule | ESPN

Only one SEC game today could be a fairly good game to watch. Probably Missouri by about 15.
This game turned ugly quick Omaha shooting 12 percent for the game. They played number 16 Creighton to a 20 point loss, but today not going to happen with Missouri. Down by 31 at the half Missouri looking really good today.

Didn't want to start a new thread so just going to post this here. Wright State has been beat by 25 plus 5 times already this season.😳😳😳 Great game for the team to gain some confidence and get lots of minutes. Maybe even an Edie 3 ball!!

Yes! Per Massey, this is the lowest rated team we'll play this year (they're 305th - for comparison, Eastern Kentucky is 259th, and Chattanooga is 217th). Massey has us winning 83-52 and HerHoopStats has us winning 92-47.

It’s going to be so bad when UConn walks into Knoxville and drills us, because they’re nothing special without Bueckers

If y'all don't see me ever again I have taken a very bad turn healthwise, and perhaps even died. I say that because I'm pretty sure I'm either having a stroke or a brain aneurysm. I say THAT because I just flipped on the Maryland-Connecticut game, and when I saw that the injury depleted CT was only down by 2 in the fourth quarter, I actually, for a moment, found myself rooting for CT.

I have thoroughly enjoyed "knowing" all of you. I'm going to go lie down on my bed now to make it easier for the professionals to deal with me.
