Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2024-25

Just think

Just think TENNESSEE is number 26 with a 6-5 record and third SEC TEAM what in the world are all the other teams doing there schedules have to be really bad for us to be Third in SEC
Big flaw in the net is the teams record that you play. LSU Net number four has played seven teams ranked over 300 and the rest at least 150 or above. They have beat them all and the teams they have played have a winning record of 40 and 36 against weak teams. Only the record is considered not who they have played. Tennessee opponents have a record of 67 and 19 but we've lost to some of them. The teams they have played are far better quality than anyone LSU has played still just the wins losses are considered. Tennessee has already beaten four teams better than any team LSU has played. The moral is play a schedule like LSU it does not hurt you early. It could when you play better teams as your team may not prepared for the better talent. I still rather have the 12 non conference wins LSU is going to have even if every team but one will be ranked over 100. LSU may be a very good team. I don't know need them to play someone better to find out.

Had a chance to watch the replay Florida vs Miami a barn burner, Florida wins in OT to move to 10-1 Rickards and Deans put on a show as did Leilani Correa.

We may see Kitts play against South Dakota State. I was surprised to hear this as she just enrolled but evidently she meets all the requirements. I wonder if anyone will be transferring?

Unusual stats in games on Wednesday:
Troy 114 - LaGrange 49
(I believe LaGrange doesn't have varsity sports, only intramural teams)
Troy attempted 104 fg's (that's more than 2 1/2 per minute) and had 77 rebounds.
LSU 88- Lamar 42 (Yet another tough opponent for Kim)
Lamar was not credited with a single assist for the entire game, zero.

Hope Kim M is enjoying her semi-retirement!

Kitts is not playing this year…..she enrolled early to train with the team and utilize the S&C program.

edit**Staley said she will play this year, surprises me some. She is a shooter though so maybe she helps this team this year.

Do you think she would burn a full year of eligibility and play sparingly? Seems like it wouldn't be worth it unless she's a Day 1 immediate impact player.

Dawn said yesterday she will play her if she thinks she is ready. And will bring her along slowly she said. Dawn also said she looks good in practice. Note she will get her extra covid year to.

She won't get an extra covid year. That was only for players that played in 2021 season.

If Kitts is good enought to crack the rotation in meaningful games and not mop up time, I could understand her decision to not redshirt. But if she's a spectator 95% of the time, it seems like a waste of a year.
